They left out the part where the property owners can also give you 1 or 2 months notice to move or pay whatever increase they demand. Then what do you do? Especially if you have kids going to a local school.

There are several of those places where people rent a room and share the amenities in Manhattan and Brooklyn where the rent is closer to 1500 and the rooms look a little bigger, that owner is greedy & taking advantage of lack of affordable housing.

All of those options you showed are still way more expensive than they should be….it’s ridiculous. My mortgage is $600 a month and that includes the property taxes and insurance….and that’s for a 3 bedroom on a half acre of land. All of this rent over $1000 or even close to $1000 is too much…you’re wasting your money away and with nothing to show for it in the end.

It’s unfair that someone with no income will get free housing for refusing to work but actual tax payers and working more than 2 jobs have to scratch every bit to make rent ; this makes taxpayers leave nyc among other reasons

Apartment rents are expensive every where not just in New York. I Pennsylvania I seen one apartment complex that was charging $4,000 for apartment rent for just one apartment. Apartment rents are going up every where not just New York.
