The visceral hate for Barry Goodman is soooo understandable. Atleast the other side villains are aiming for a higher purpose. Some side characters are just in it for the van ride like Barry and deserve to go to jail, not the bench. Something something FE: Awakening Hierarch from Ch.7 is more impactful than Barry.

@@archerdamo9160 Officially, Barry is not one. He was written to be one of the over-enthusiastic fan types that is over-protective of their idol. The problem is that the idol he is a fan of is around 10 (and he is an overweight man in his thirties/forties) and while there is no indication that he would ever harm her or do anything to her, his obsessiveness as a grown man towards a child is never addressed, so comes across as extremely creepy.

Every time I think about Sombron, i have to giggle. He's such a funny goober to me. I can't take him seriously while he's calling out the incantations for the emblems when he's corrupting them in destinea cathedral, the way he says them sounds like he's having fun doing it. The way he tries to peace out of Elyos and Alear is like "no asshole, you're staying here and fighting us." The way the hidden bad ending plays out with Male Alear specifically. I just feel his reaction to finding out he's trapped as Eveyle's emblem has this air of "you gotta be kidding me" 😑 that female Alear doesn't express while Sombron laughs in the background like this is a prank he played on him. There's other things I find funny about Sombron but those are like the examples I can come up with atm.
