I respect 🙏 what you are doing , as in 2013 I was 24hrs from being on the street as I went Bankrupt had depression and did try suicide. But thanks to SSFA & the British Legion, they helped me get a room in Sal Army in Old Swan , I don't tell this story as hard luck , but to tell you what I saw and learnt in the hostel at Old Swan while took chances for interviews and plan how my day would go, other planned where they would beg , they would look at train time tables for the London trains so they be outside Lime Street and other made other plans , some have mobile phones so they tell others areas of easy picking. I know some people with real problems like what I had will end up on the street, but I know those who will fight heaven and earth to get off the streets , so when I see people on the street, I have 2 thoughts 1. It could have been me. 2. I remember what I saw in the Salvation Army hostel. Please don't give money 🙏 give food and advice . Also, don't give anything to those with mobile phones. Respect, keep up the good work.

I cannot for the life of me understand why the council cannot do more for these poor people? There are thousands of houses that could be rehabbed and used for housing people! It wouldn’t take that much money! 😢 You are such a good person Kev! 👏👏👏

The country is in a cost of living crisis this means that local councils are being forced to cut services in some areas of the country some councils are bankrupt so it probably not on the priority lists of spending money on . I fully support and agree councils should do more but the only way for the councils is to to raise councils taxes BUT I would bet everyone would kick off about the rise of taxes

Get the roll mats in home bargain in hanover st £4.99. I live in the city centre unfortunately most of these sleeping bags, blankets etc get dumped. The council should give some storage facilities the homeless can store their belonging instead of abandoning them.

The recent fire to what I believe to have been a large but stalled building development, reminds me of the fact that there must be other building developments or derelict buildings out there which could be put to good use at modest costs to providing short term accommodation to the homeless. Are there any plans to do such work? If not perhaps a campaign should be launched to lobby local and national govt. bodies to provide funding and an action plan?

I was at a bus stop the other day and a group of kids, just waiting for bus chatting to each other brought up Homelessness. One of the girls said to the group “I reckon I’d be dead good at being homeless” 😂

I just wanted to say how to take my cat to the vet today and I came past Iceland and you remember that girl you was mentioning well when I went past, she was sitting by Iceland. I looked at and you’re right she’s got make-up and she had a white jacket on And she was sitting there with a cop and there was another person sitting there with a cop and it was raining today. its the small stuff like if it only a nite spent not hungry or vulnerable, complex cases that have multi agency requirements so its a start of trying to keep most alive to be able stand up and be credible.baby steps cos its a much bigger widerspread issue that no one wants to address and obviously our governent have far too much to do as it is giving hotel rooms to migrrant young mostly work aged men to be looking at those problems .

@@lisa.b.78 I don't agree. The problem is not having an address to claim benefits from. Sort an address, doesn't matter where so long as you can receive post daily, friend, family, charity, local business all may be able to help. Apply for benefits and look for accommodation, private or social. Use the benefits system to pay the rent and council tax. Find a job. That's how the problem of homelessness is solved. I've done it myself and for someone else I took pity on. It works.

I dont think that you should be angry with the council. I think you are frustrated with the system be careful with your language usage even if your true meaning is comprehended as opposed to being understood. keep up the good work. many years ago I found myself homeless and remember thinking . if i am ever in a position where I can make a difference I will. One day I found myself in that position and since then have done what i can to help, Im an old man now. funny old world. good luck
