My absolute favorite Pearl moment is when she realizes how badly she had been hurting Amethyst but told Amethyst she was the _one good thing_ to come of the Earth's colonization. Not the rebellion, not her life on Earth, but her little sister figure was the one good thing. The moment the two of them come to an understanding helps Amethyst learn to love herself and that's the most beautiful gift you can give someone else: the chance to love themselves.

Volleyball even has some semblance to Anthy(A girl who is forced to grow up to be a trophy wife, who Utena is in love with and makes it her goal to try to save her from creepy men. There's a HUGE amount of trigger warnings to know of if you want to get into it but Anthy/Utena had such an impact on queer media)

10:43 real quick, this is the episode that made me want to watch this show. I watched the first few episodes back when they came out and hadn't really picked up after that. One day I was browsing through channels and saw Steven Universe on and though "oh yeah, thats that silly show with space women and the magic kid", and when I put it on it was the scene when Amethyst and Pearl are fighting and Amethyst says _"I never asked for it to be this way! It bothered me that the Pebbles made Steven his Pink Diamond outfit over his swim trunks he had been wearing since visiting Yellow Diamond's Extraction Chamber/sauna thingy. He was pretty sweaty and swim trunks aren't made for wearing them long periods of time, and... he had them under the outfit for the entire party, his fusion as Stevonnie, and in Blue Diamond's confinement chamber (and I forgot how long after that until he could change clothes again.) I just know what a swampy swimsuit feels like, ok? It's not good! XP

However, it was pretty clear that Steven was wearing his yellow swim trunks bc Pearl told him (paraphrase) "You'd better change into your trunks," and handed them to him to change into before he went to see Yellow Diamond in the Extraction Chamber. The same swim trunks were previously seen in "Keystone Motel." Also, Steven's underwear are usually briefs/tightie whities. I don't think we've ever seen him in boxers. (I'm not trying to make this weird, there's just a surprising amount of times Steven has been in his undies in the show, I swear!)

I really like the way they tweaked her design after those early eps, and i don't just mean her changes in style when she'd reform after poofing. in that first season she was so spindly and her head was much more of an oval than a circle. she was still great ofc, but the way the artists changed her look was definitely for the better imo
