I'm in the same boat. The normal summon is so important in Galaxy and losing one of them when Wizard and summoner are already so strong makes this card kinda useless. They can increase the size of the board, which adds more protection while Delta just adds a little bit of consistency. I will be testing it of course but overall I'm not running it.

I understand your view, I've yet to test extensively both consistency vs higher ceiling in Galaxy-Eyes, but me personally I always prefer to have a plan consistently. Thing is, Galaxy-Eyes isn't exactly that good of a deck in comparison to Meta so you might aswell go all-in rather than put up a weakish board consistently. My only wish is that Photon Jumper comes quickly to the TCG :(

See, I feel the opposite. This deck has gotten much better and is arguably playable now, but you're right, it's really not on the level of the meta. So if it's not on the level of the meta, then why do we play it? To have fun. Bricking isn't fun, so I'm gonna prioritize consistency.

I prefer consistency over more powerful end boards but even than I think the Galaxy Wizard + Hundred/Summoner combo is alot better for the sake of ripping a card from your opponent’s extra deck and ending with 38, 90 and Solflare atleast. I am still hoping either I or someone else finds something broken with Delta Wing, it is a good card, so there has got to be something that will make it more valuable than Wizard, but maybe it's a case of "not yet but will be in the future"

I’ve done some testing with photon delta wing with some 2 and 3 card combos and honestly I’ve found I don’t need to normal summon both wizard and summoner to make full board (IE my full board is felgrand photon lord solflare and hyper galaxy set if I can get it). I do personally think photon delta wing is a superior normal summon in the early game than galaxy summoner however in the grind game galaxy summoner has much more potential for power plays from a normal summon alone but this is why I’ve decided delta wing will be a 3 of once it drops with summoner at 1 as a search target in the grind game.

Photon/Galaxy is in such a weird state. They have SO MUCH support, but it's all either useless, just okay, or good-but-brickish. I've been hoping for so long that we'll get enough of the just okay stuff to make the brickish stuff more reliable. Photon Delta Wing is definitely a step in the right direction. Adds consistency, has ACTUAL SYNERGY (GPD-->Emperor or the combos you mention. Even Starliege Galaxion maybe??) with other members of the archetype. It's not amazing, but, well . . . I feel like we're getting there. Albeit maybe a little slowly.

Aside from being a flex piece in already existing combos we also have to consider the combos it itself enables (for example by making GPD without Trance) Example I came up with Delta Wing + Photon Vanisher: NS Delta Wing, SS copy Xyz GPD, search Trance SS Vanisher, search GEPD, GPD makes Vanisher L8 Trance SS Delta Wing and L4 Galaxy Xyz Photon Blast, SS GEPD Vanisher + GEPD into Titanic/Lord End Field: GPD, Photon Blast (with over 2k ATK, thus protecting itself), Titanic/Lord A complete new combo flow that we couldn't (consistently) do before. While not multi negate this board forces battle destruction to break the protection and for that we either have the Titanic attack redirect or Lord searching Galactikuriboh. I think once people can test it we'll see a bunch of new stuff like this.

If I was to give Galaxy/Photon just one more card to round everything out, it would be a r5nk with an effect like: 2 Lvl 5 LIGHT MONSTERS You can also XYZ summon this card using a r4nk Photon or Galaxy monster you control (transfer materials over). Once per turn, you can detach 1 XYZ material from this card; Special summon 1 Photon or Galaxy monster from the deck. Once per turn, when another XYZ monster activates its effect, you can destroy 1 card on the field, then 1 monster you control cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. Make it a r5nk so that Galaxy Soldier can make it on its own (basically just remove Infinity as an option for this deck and give it its own better option) because as of right now there's no reason for Soldier to be level 5. Make it self rank-up from a r4nk because passing on Galaxy Photon Dragon is pointless for Galaxy-Eyes (it uses just becomes link material for Solflare anyway). If this deck can't get a real starter, which Konami doesn't seem to want to give it, then just give it an extra move to make with the 2 vanilla level 4s that this deck can put on the field. Popping on the opponent's turn would be nice since right now the deck only really makes negates on the opponent's turn, and making a monster indestructible by battle would make it even more challenging for them to out the new boss that is immune to monster effects. You could get away with just playing Wizard at 1 if a monster like this existed and you wouldn't have to argue with yourself over whether you should play Delta Wing over Wizard. Deck becomes more consistent and has a slightly stronger endboard. 2 level 4 monsters that are basically just vanillas suddenly actually have value in the deck beyond just making the current r4nk. I'd be able to excuse the main deck "starters" being extremely mid if a card like this existed.

I feel like as far as meta relevancy goes, top decks have almost always been super consistent. Even if worse, Delta wing not only gives you the ability to run an additional lvl4 starter, but it also gives you a solid 1 card combo. Not to mention ash, which Delta Wing is less damaged by than wizard, since it remains on the field instead of tributing itself. Also, more consistency means you can run handtraps or other tech cards without worrying about bricking as much. All in all I think Delta wing is a great step towards making this deck competitive and it helps most lists at 2 or 3.

we just need a rank 4 starter thst can special sommon it self from the hand if there is a card that mentions photon or galaxy in its Text or name in your hand feld or GY. and have a equip effect as cost that equips a card that mentions galaxy or photon in its name or text. then its activated effect would be to bounce that card to your hand. also sense this deck is very weak to hand traps is why the attach effect is by cost so it can't be negated by ash maby. this sommoning condition makes it only used in its arc. also to be extra spicy make it uneffected by card effects dering the turn it equips a card. so if its your opponents turn. and was speacial sommoned you can equipment photon orbital and make it uneffected by card effects and by battle for a last ditch protection. unless they pop the equip card. then it loses all its effects.

I think the interesting thing with Delta wing is that it lets us get into GPD without being hard galaxy locked and therefore climb into a Zeus since it's also light (assuming you're even going second and can even do that much) its a little mid tho since it turns off trance

1:50 incorrect. Delta wing is reusable. It isn't opt. You cam recycle one with the link 2 to pull another from the deck for blaster. Since delta wing can by itself make both your rank 4s this frees up your trance for further rank 8 plays. Before, especially going first, you'd have to choose between the two when it came to end boards. With delta, you can have both. I value the potentially stronger end board more than a single extra search which between GPD and Jumper is generally not even needed.

I think Delta Wing simply came out too late. In a time where everyone plays Ash blossom and/or impermanence, Delta Wing is likely to get negated. With that in mind, and the fact that I'd have used my normal summon for that, it's just not worth trying to fit 2-3 copies of Delta Wing into my deck

They had a relatively recent wave of support and they were the cover card for the pack. this is just for the theme of animation chronicle, giving random support from the anime to decks. I wouldn’t expect more anytime soon

photon emperor already gives you an extra summon and since it’s not on of those “immediately after this effect resolves normal summon”eff, having double summon would be a dead card

Double Summon hasn't been viable since Gadgets pre-link era. Delta Wing dramatically improves consistency: I highly recommend you don't ruin that consistency by making room for another card that reduces consistency.

Let's be honest. Outside of liking the archetype, this isn't the deck you'd want to play if you want to pull off crazy 1st turn boards. Now, I actually do think liking the archetype is a perfectly valid reason to play a deck, but I have to acknowledge that I'm playing that archetype for fun rather than to win. Bricking isn't very fun. Therefor, it only makes sense to prioritize actually being able to have fun by not bricking. That's why the consistency it brings is highly valuable to me.

Delta Wing guarantees some board presence and deck thinning with little strings attached. Wizard has you using your Normal for something you'll just tribute off for a search. I can see the appeal of running at least 2 Deltas. Rank 4 Galaxy Photon or Starliege in the early game, maybe a 1-card Link 2 Bujinki in case the game gets drawn out.
