I grow mine on a windowsill (obviously!) and I do use the traditional sphagnum. But I mix it with perlite + coco husk for more drainage and I also let the tray dry before re-watering so I never had suffocating root. But now that I know your substrate, I'll givi it a try when I'll be short on LFS :) As you said, it's always good to try. I'm just concerne about your substrate being "nutriment rich". Did you tried to put some into distilled water for 48h then testing the TDS of the water?

Hi Windowsill Nepenthes Our nepenthe mix is very low in nutrients as we give our Jungle mix a 24 hour 0 ppm water bath after that we then proceed to let it air dry from there we then add 175 degrees 0ppm boiling hot water this helps discourage any random spores from germinating in our mix after that we then squeeze any residual water until mostly dry and proceed to adding our Coco husk fiber, perlite , orchid bark mix, charcoal, and large perlite to the mix. It’s very safe for Nepenthes about 50% of our nepenthes are in this mix and we have about 175 nepenthes lol we where interested in testing our soil sitting in water so we let it sit for about 6 hours as no nepenthe would be sitting in water for 48h lol but it read only 10ppm which was really good taking into account that there was soil and many other things added to it . Thanks so much if you have any other questions will be more than happy to answer them :)

How do you hang your pots on the wall back there?
@structuralplants54204 жыл бұрын
Don Fung Hi we actually have a wood panel behind that we drill right into and mount the pots to.

Can we buy just the pure jungle moss from you so we can incorporate it into our own mixes? Does it hold more or less water than LFS?
@structuralplants54203 жыл бұрын
Hi Clint We can definitely just offer our jungle moss by itself So that way you can incorporate your own mix. Feel free to DM message us on our Instagram and we can definitely hook you up thanks so much. - Our jungle moss definitely holds less water than long fiber Sphagnum moss but definitely maintains moisture and drains a lot better. we would recommend this mix to anyone who has to water more frequently as this mix prevents any root rot from happening as it is very difficult to overwater this mix. Thanks.
