Alpina placed a call because earlier in the build they told Sreten to F*** Off and now they realize how bad they look. That car is financially totaled and is only being rebuilt because Sreten can monetize the content and may receive donated or sponsored parts. Otherwise, that car is sitting in a junkyard with the rest of the unrepaired BMW's.

This is hands down the best youtube car channel!! From the content, cutting, focus on details to the will and stamina to get closure on all presented projects. The tribute to the car stage from the 80's to now, with pro and cons of the different time periods, is just fantastic. The general mood of this channel really make me want to go back to my younger years... My father was a big petrolhead, and a total alfa entusiast. From the Alfetta 2.0, 2*Guilietta 2.0, 33 1,5ie, 75 TS, 2*155 TS, 156 and in the end a Alfa GT. I have driven the most of the cars, and one which suprised me most, was the Alfa 33 1.5ie last gen. The Boxer engine was torky, low on vibrations and the sound was really nice but a little bit special. But the handling was top notch, and the quality wasn't as bad as the reputation implies. So perhaps an alfa could be targeted as a project ( at some point ;-)) Try to take a look at Jethro Bronner, home build by jeff and Davide Cironi. Thanks!! Keep up the fantastic job! Greetings from Denmark. Mfg Michael.

Im thinking the chassis got scuffed/damaged during or prior to assembly at the Alpina factory, and Alpina (or a third party) painted it fully in a generic black color. Might seem unlikely because of the thin paint, but I have a hard time believing it went through BMW quality control like that. Especially being a 7 series.

I forgot to mention it, but North American Alpina B7 was assembled at BMW. Euro spec B7's were assembled at Alpina.

@@M539Restorations Makes sense now as you mentioned the vin-number not being Alpina specific for the US cars. Could be interesting to see if other schwarz II e65 Alpinas (or normal e65's) from the US have the same metallic finish on the body

i work at a bodyshop and we occasionally get cars or little stuff brought back and we just redo them as we have been having loads of trouble with our paintbooths filtering systems and the air systems and what not, its a on going case and the professionals have been working on it and its been getting alot better and the imperfections have gone down massively but its still occasionally happening

Man I'm so happy the engine is fine. The moment I heard the noise I was like "oh no not again"😩. So it's good news in a way. Glad to see positive after all the setbacks. Stay strong!

I felt the same as I have another B7 with the exact same engine issue. Seems to be an epidemic on this car.

I personally think that the Alpina is cursed and doesn’t want to be fixed😂 but all kudos to you for not giving up, and it great to hear the boss of Alpina is willing to help you👍

Wow, fair play to Alpina. Covering themselves in glory with their offer. I’m looking forward to the episode already

Hey Sreten, on the subject of the paint I have heard that they paint a batch of few cars with one color, then they switch to another color and so on. Have heard that the first car from a given batch may have a tint from the prev batch color, then the tint dies off with each subsequent car. Unsure if this may explain it. Good luck and thanks again for your perseverence, you are an expemple to us all! All the best!!

Hahaha, nehrajou vubec basy 😀. As I’m Czech, this made me really laugh. Otherwise - shocking quality on German paintshops 🙈. Video, as always, is excellent!

This had to have been two cars... I can't believe the factory would do that with the paint... My guess is, someone with an Alpina had a total loss, and transplanted everything (VIN too) onto a donor car (which was a different color).
