More protesters arrested at NYU and the New School

The NYPD raided encampments at New York University and at the New School just after 6 a.m. Friday morning, taking dozens of people into custody. FOX 5 NY's Antwan Lewis has the story.

Schools are supposed to be places of learning and education. Why don't they protest in front of the U.N. building or somewhere more appropriate than schools?

As an NYU Student, I know they are demanding NYU to divest from Israeli companies and sponsors, who they claim to be supporting genocide in Gaza.

"Schools are supposed to be places of learning and education" Yep. Which is why they should divest from companies profiting from wars and settlements. That's one of the biggest protest points.

@@Michconsin 1. They are paying tuition, and they are the future donors of the school. Donors direct investments all the time, so they too have a right as future donors. 2. Interesting how both democrats and republicans push for divestment from Chinese companies due to those companies being associated with the CCP, but do not push the same for israel. Is human rights violation a cause for divestment only when the country is not donating billions a year to political campaigns? 3. They are free to invest in whatever they want? Can they invest in Iran? Can they invest in Russia? Ever heard of sanctions? These protestors want sanctions on Israel, so saying they should stop protesting for sanctions because sanctions don’t exist is a silly argument. That’s the exact reason why they are protesting.

I don't mean to say that democracy is bad, but when Islamic values or Pan-Islamism are only "blocked" with alleged of trespassing, violations of land ownership, that is not a massive method of "blocking". It would be best to create a law that regulates state security and protects democratic values from all forms of Pan-Islamist activities throughout the US.

Is there a noise ordinance? They must be giving someone somewhere a headache or interfering with business. I did my small share of demonstrating but if people got rude or loud, I was out of there. There is no reason why you should be chanting words of hate/racism or any other insulting anythng.
