Tbh, I’m at the point where I just want standees. Love Oathsworn, and the miniatures quality is incredible, but I have like five boxes! Way too much space taken up. The problem with regular standees, though, is they inevitably get damaged. I think acrylics are a nice in-between minis and the cardboard counterparts.

I love my minis--I also have the Oathsworn all-in--and would be willing to give acrylics a real shot, but for whatever reason none of the bigger creators seem to be willing. Perhaps we're close to the tipping point, or maybe it's just that the manufacturers want to hold on to their business, especially since it's tied to painting. I gotta believe there's enough business out there to go around, but we may still be waiting a while for a true concerted effort at acrylic production gets underway.

I'm with you on that. Oathsworn minis are amazing but all the games with minis are taking so much space. For me, I look if the game has minis I find really interesting and not redundant with games I already have, especially as I may use them in D&D games. A game I recently backed has a skeletal dragon, and I already have one from another game, so I went with standees and maybe I'll use the other game's mini as proxy.

@@mattmeister0721 There's multiple aspects that come if creators do standees alternatives of not. One big being logistics cost. Having two versions costs a lot more.

Ha, the "no new games for 10 years" question is certainly an interesting one to ponder. I too certainly have a huge backlog to catch up on, but every year, someone somewhere always seem to come up with a cool idea I don't want to miss out on, so definitely a tough question for both sides of the fence!

I think there's one big oversight in the questions! How many unfinished campaign games I have is 6. However, there's a lot of unfinished campaign games I sold, so no longer have. That changes the outcome a lot! Oh and I love this series!

I just don't know where to start. I purchased Dungeon Legends, Gloomhaven JotL, Arydia, the reprint of Agemonia, and backed Lands of Evershade. I think I'm going to start them in that order, (forced also with the release times. But Dungeon Legends is a small introductory as far as I know, then Gloomhaven. I understand all of that content will take me years probably, haha, but I think I'll start in that order. Thoughts?

I don't always think it's FOMO so much as much as adult onset ADD...lol! However, I think your plan is sound as I purposely backed Lands of Evershade Divinum Collector Pledge knowing I'd wait for the full shipment in two years instead of the split just so I could do the same as you! Although, my catalog is slightly different: Currently own and am playing: -ISS Vanguard (3rd campaign) -Primal -7th Continent -7th Citadel (2nd campaign) -Tamashii (running two campaigns concurrently) At home waiting to play: -Oathsworn On its way (Eventually/Someday/Ideally): -Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era -Earthborne Rangers 2nd Printing -Dragon Eclipse -Leviathan Wilds Second Printing -Avatar: Journey of Aang -Spirit Fire -Horror on the Orient Express -Grimcoven -Sea Beasts - A Bloody Voyage -Lands of Evershade And while yes, I definitely backed at the max level for all of these, it's because I believe in one-and-done. I guess it's technically a version of FOMO, but in my mind I only do this for things I genuinely want and will play through, like with Legendary which I have EVERYTHING for and have been playing since 2013. I feel personally attacked by this question series. I do love me some campaign games... but I have found that unless I play them solo, I only get a few scenarios into a game before life comes up and someone in the group stops playing. This eventually leads to the group "waiting" for that person to want to play again, which never happens. Until excitement for the next game occurs and the process starts over again. But I love them.... so I keep trying.

There's one question I would have liked seeing on this list: Do you REPLAY campaign games? And if so, does it depends on the game having unexplored content? I'm thinking like Tanares Adventure has a ton of quests and you barely do 10% of them in a single campaign, while some like ISS Vanguard lets you explore almost everything in a single campaign.

Question: Think of your favorite game, would you buy a newly produced game by a publisher who took 90% of your favorite game and "copied it" but added new components/aspects to it? If a second edition of a game you own comes out, with updated rules and componets etc., do you sell etc. your first edition for the second edition?

I'm realizing that my 'Other' answer of, "I try to plan 2+ years out," is basically the same as "I'm roughly finishing and acquiring at an even enough pace." Although, I do feel that my reasoning is a bit more specific. Is anyone else in this camp?

Honest answer would be, I collect them.. I was quite successfull with my TG solo playthrough, but since I stored it before wedding it stayed in the box.. However not due to lack of time, but lack of space

I answered the questions based on how many campaign games I personally own, but honestly, if I answered with the number of campaign games that I and my friends that I would play campaign games with own, the number would be much higher probably x2 or x3. Also, I didn't even count Arydia and ES:BOTSE, which both should be arriving soonish, in the next few weeks to few months, depending on my luck, or any others that I backed that aren't as close to delivery (Evershade, for example), or any of the ones that my friends have on the way. hmmm... we may also have a campaign problem 😅

LOL I have finished 0 campaign games. IN MY DEFENSE, I just got into the hobby last year and we are still playing our first campaign of Jaws of the Lion that we started last September (lots of setbacks). I have bought more because there are so many games I have to catch up on, and also so we have more to play when we do finish this one. However, I don't want to start any other games until this one is done. This is partially due to not wanting other games to delay this playthrough any more than it has been AND because it is kinda still sitting out on my dining room table... where we would play other games. So I both can't and don't want to. (Exceptions are if I'm taking games to play with others at family gatherings and such)

One thing that bugs me with this is: where do you draw the line for "campaign" game? Narrative / story driven game that are basically RPGs? Any game where you play multiple scenarios in a row? While games like Tanares Adventure is obviously a campaign game, what about Arcadia Quest, where you technically play a "campaign" of six consecutive scenario, but there's very little narrative to it, just a bit of flavor text setting the scenario. What about Divide Et Impera, where there's a short campaign as a side-element of an expansion? Obviously the core DEI is not a campaign game, but including the expansion, is it?

Obviously not Alex, but I'm thinking the reason is that generally speaking legacy games are one-time plays, even though they are ostensibly campaign-based. Campaign games can be reset to their original state and replayed.

I think there should have been a response for "abandoned games". Games that just were not for you. Not that it is there to be finished but genuinely not interested in finishing... Gloomhaven. I had a good time but I was done with it when I sold it. Not looking to go back and finish.

I think there needs to be more granularity in the how many campaign games you played at least 15 hours. I think there will be many players who played 1 or 2 and not many who played 4 or 5.

So, I have to answer that I am going to complete 100% of my unplayed campaign games. But I feel like it's important to note that it's because I only own 1, have a plan to play and finish it, and have never played more than 2 scenarios from any other campaign. Just wanted to say this because my 100% is going to look like I'm saying something else

Have gloomhaven, tanares ultimate, and backed lands of evershade. My tanares has been really fun but it seems like I got a half backed game (missing some character cards, qr code to puzzle solutions don't work, character mats and action cards don't match, etc.) The seller says they've passed concerns to developer. Is there a way for me to reach them directly?
