I have a pretty sweet story about that Harry Potter joke. My husband used to work at a small movie theater. I mean, really small - just one theater, with a little bar/concessions stand out front, on the property of a small resort. They often host movie viewings for youngins with sensory disabilities, and a party of special needs children came in one day to watch a movie. At one point, my husband is helping a dad with his little girl who came up to get some snacks. The little girl excitedly asks him if he wants to hear a joke, and he says "Of course - go for it!" and she says "Ok knock knock?" and husband responds with "who's there?" The little girl's eyes start tearing up and she goes "oh no, it wasn't a knock knock joke! I ruined the joke!" and just starts sobbing. He tries to tell her its ok, but she runs over to her dad and buries her face in his chest and her dad looks at my husband apologetically and tries to calm the girl down. Eventually she does, and her dad encourages her to try again. My husband assures her that he'd still like to hear her joke, if she feels like telling it. So she starts again. Between the tears she manages to squeak out "What is Harry Potter's favorite way to walk down a hill?" and my husband kindly asks "I don't know, darlin', what's Harry Potter's favorite way to walk down a hill?" and she says "Walking!" My husband, thinking it was a non-joke (or anti-joke, whichever you wanna call it) smiles and chuckles politely, but then, still crying, she busts out, "JK - RO-ooo-ooo-ooo-WLING! Get it? *sob* Because - because the writer's last name is ROWLING and it sounds *sob* it sounds like ROLLING" My husband genuinely laughed SO hard, and he thanked her, and told her that she was VERY good at jokes, and she ran back to her dad just beaming. Her dad mouthed out a quiet "thank you!" as he scooped her up and they left the theater. It's one of my favorite stories that my husband likes to tell people. He and that little girl really made each other's day. I hope that every time she's scared, she remembers the time that she made a mistake but she tried again anyway, and everything came out ok in the end. :)

This helped me a lot because last November my great grandma died from her fourth cancer and she died at the age of 91. She was my idol even though I didn't see her as much as possible, my last memory of her is being at her apartment and that she baked home-made buns. And everyone loved her because of her young spirit and how she could make you smile no matter how bad your day was. At her funeral I had to comfort my mom, but every time I felt like my great grandma was leaving to go to a better lace, I cried, like I was connected to her through our spirits. It felt so empty inside after the funeral, but at least she's with her love again (my great grandpa).

Another reason to smile: my new puppy, Benny (originally called Pacey). Is from a litter of 11 pups, his mum was rescued from the streets pregnant and gave birth a little while after. He is now 2 months, a week and 3 days. And believe it or not we were lucky to get him when we did because there were ques of waiting adoption forms for him if we didn't want him, that my friends is what the SPCA(the place we got him from) almost never does.

I just want to put this out there. I've struggled with bullying since I was 5. Depression at 6. Anxiety at 7. Started self harming,anorexia,bulemia,and first suicide attempt at age 10. I,recently was in a place where I had lost all hope. I didnt believe Happieness was possible for me. I was in a terrible place in my life. I weighed 90 pounds (I was 5"3tall) I was really suicidal. And one night I was planning on ending my life. I had my suicide not wrote and everything. I went to turn off the music I was listening to on KZbin and as I left that video,Thomas' first reasons to smile video popped up. I was curious so I watched it. I was happy for the first time in a long while. I decided not to take my life. Thomas saved my life. I'm now in a place in my life were I'm doing better. I have amazing friends who accept me and use my preferred pronouns (he/they) and I have an amazing boyfriend. and I'm happy. not "happy" , as I was before. but really,and truly happy. For anyone who struggles with anything like that just know it does get better. No one should ever have to feel the way I did. I'm not doing this for pity. I just wanted to share MY story. and let anyone going through a tough time know,it DOES get better. and I'm not just saying that. It truly does. 💖💛💙 Sending my love to all.

'You are enough' I started tearing up so much, my mother has always put the pressure on me to be her 'perfect daughter' and when I came out as pansexual she said I had to 'pick a side' and to stop making things, she doesn't trust me to eat enough even though I'm trying to eat healthier. He's the reason I came out as pansexual and genderfluid in the first place and although I've had my bad coming outs I've had supportive people. My teacher (she doesn't know) was so happy to see I added an LGBT+ character (nb) into my story, my friends have started calling me Kai and ask me what my pronouns are everyday and just try to learn. If I could tell my 10 year old self one thing it'll be that it'll get better and not to worry about what others think

She even buys me pride stuff and bought me a pansexual pride flag (it's hanging on my wall right now) and she's buying me stuff to be therapeutic (stress balls ect) as therapy is unable (2020 lockdown) and she's considering taking me to a hospital to get help (may seem bad but good)
