This is definitely a great product as a carpenter I spent my life on ladders do you want to make sure that the ladder extends above the landing area by two or three rungs. And at best always have someone at the bottom of the ladder to make sure that it does not shift during the acent. And the dismount. I definitely carry one of these on my rig. Thomyt

I have two ladders of that style 12’ and 16’. Love them except for accessing my trailer roof. Not so bad getting up there but so scary coming down. I waited over an hour once on the roof waiting for someone to hold the ladder while coming down.
@michaelwaller60932 жыл бұрын
Nice ladder, but it seems pricey. More concerning to me is the fact that you can find absolutely nothing about Ustep, other than it is sold on Amazon. I would think, that a company selling a supposedly reputable product, would have visibility to the public, an active website describing its product line, and/or contact info for customer support. Apparently, the parent company is Telestep, out of Canada. Interestingly, there is zero mention of Usteps on their website. There is zero warranty information on the Amazon link, so who do you contact for support or issues? Before I’d plunk down $400 for a ladder, regardless of how nice it looks, I’d certainly want more information made available to me.

I hope you never go on top of a trailer with the ladder below the edge, you will never get down! Always extend the ladder as far beyond the top as it will go so you can grab it to get started down! Feeling for it with a foot would be scary and exciting, Matt’s 1st on screen fall! Also to be safest possible attach a line at the top rung and heave it over the trailer to a tie down spot! Good luck!

Ladders should be at a 4x1 ratio - four foot up, should be one foot away from what it leaning against. To close, you can fall backwards, to shallow and it could bend or lose footing.

I have one of those ladders for a seasonal trailer because it doesn’t have a ladder. As a 60 year old man that has owned RVs for over 3 decades and has always maintained my own roofs, I can tell you that this ladder is ok if you don’t have one, but it is no where near as stable and safe as an installed ladder on any RV or the one on my 2021 Rock wood Mini Lite😬 Also, if there is such a shortage of ladders, then can you please tell me why Rockwood and Jayco still have ladders while manufacturers like Wildwood and Cherokee claim there are none available🤔 I am looking forward to your next video with Will demonstrating this ladder for your viewers🙄

This ladder rated at 300#. Most RV ladders are rated at 225-250. This is far stronger and using it at an angle is safer than a vertical RV ladder.
@stevez3402 жыл бұрын
@@jaybrown5431 I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I currently have a telescoping ladder for a seasonal trailer and I’ve had several attached ladders over the past 3 decades including one currently on my Rockwood Mini Lite. All of my attached ladders have been much more stable than any ladder that is not especially when you are almost never on flat or stable ground to set up a ladder and access the roof of your trailer like you are with a demonstration on a blacktop parking lot. Every time I leave a campsite, I climb on the roof to make sure my slide out is not compromised with debris before I close it and very few campsites are perfectly level, but if you have had experience with both types of ladders and you disagree then God Bless You👍
@jaybrown54312 жыл бұрын
@@stevez340 this ladder has adjustable feet as an accessory to always make it perfectly level. It has a triangular design (the only one on the market) making it extremely safe. Please explain how a 225# RV ladder with no certification can be stronger than a 300# ANSI rated ladder.
@stevez3402 жыл бұрын
@@jaybrown5431 I have an adjustable ladder, I use it and I have had to put something under one leg of the ladder to level and stabilize it, but my wife has never had to hold my attached ladder to prevent it from moving or sliding along the roofline of my trailer, but if you think a ladder with no attachment points is more stable than an attached ladder then by all means go for it!

There's no shortage of aluminum or steel in the USA so "good luck with this type of bean counting." The time to start moving the metal in the RV Industry was like 10 Years ago after the recovery from the 2008 collapse of Lehman Brothers. Now Rivian is out running wild with the *MASSIVE* F150 Lightning soon to enter production...and obviously Ford Motor Company isn't new to the idea of Mass Production unlike say Tesla ... or apparently even General Motors now. Anyhow that GM 3.0 liter diesel is supposed to be quite the amazing engine. As far as commercial engines the Ford F750 has been making noise in this market going on forever now. Cummins, John Deere, Caterpillar, MTU and who knows who else suddenly all have a lot of work to do. Only Allison Transmission seems *SOMEWHAT* safe at the moment. Better be using real rubber for that air brake system, too! The plastic ones used in the USA Trucking Industry for decades *NEVER* should have come into existence in the first place. Plus now fuel cell vehicles in the USA ("Nikola" as new, Toyota/Honda for decades now, plus Plug Power plus Ballard Power etc)
