I just found this channel and you sharing great videos. Keep going like that.

Excellent presentation. To expand a bit, I'd add that SPEAR can create SDIF analysis files that are usable with OpenMusic's SDIF processors. Also, Linux users might like to know that SPEAR runs nicely with the Wine emulator.

Thank you, Dave! That's right, I often use SPEAR with the repmus library in OM.

Thanks for this video! I would love to see one that explains how to use OM for spectral analysis

I'll be uploading some more OM tutorials in the next few months.

Fascinating! I tried SPEAR years ago but found it very limited. This version seems to be more recent though and since granular synthesis has become much more practical it could be used to spice up samples and then treat them granular when converted back to audio. Hmmmmmm!

Yes, spear has some very interesting capabilities!

Hello, please, I need that OM patch you showed in the video. I need it for my work and am really bad at programming so it would be tremendously helpful If you told me where can I get it please.

Thank you for your video. Could you please tell me how to access this patch? Is it require some of external file? I am very new to OpenMusic and I want to analyse an audio file and have a notation output.

Is there a real time programmatic way of altering the partials ?
@gabrielbolanos43792 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by programmatic? OM has many possibilities for algorithmic composition with spectra. I'm not sure about spear- I have only manually changed the partials.
@matthewpublikum31142 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielbolanos4379 yes altering partials in fft outputs like spear. Unfortunately OMs spectral tools depends on ircam's closed libraries

Hi Mr. Bolaños. Where can I get this Patch "pm2 analysis tools" and the others in your OM list? Or is there any tutorial talking about how to make then? Thanks
@gabrielbolanos43792 жыл бұрын
Hi Antonio- these patches come with the library. You can download the om-pm2 library (and many others) here: openmusic-project.github.io/libraries.html

@@gabrielbolanos4379 Thank's for the fast answer. I've already downloaded some paths to the OM library with sucess. But this one (om-pm2) is the only one that give me this error: "No applicable methods for # with args (nil)". I have to say that I'm working in windows. Do you have some directions for the solution? Thanks anyway
@gabrielbolanos43792 жыл бұрын
@@aldmcello1 I'm not sure what that error means- you might find a solution posting on the openmusic discussion forum

@@gabrielbolanos4379 Hi Mr. Bolanõs. I was finally able to get the pm2 (for the partial tracking) and the repmus (as->om), but I can't find the partial.sdif thing you have under partial tracking. Am I missing it in some place or there is another patch that I should download? Sorry to disturb you even more

This is great, but are there any programs for Windows as well?
@gabrielbolanos43794 жыл бұрын
Spear and OM both work on Windows. You can also do spectral analysis with DAWs like Audacity and Reaper, but they are less versatile than Spear.
