Reminiscing about camping and hiking all the trails at Lost Maples and Garner State park 25-30 years ago... Texas Hill Country is so pretty. The roads 337, 187, 1050 and 336 are some of the most scenic in Texas. Downstream from Lost Maples on the Sabinal River is Utopia (where Utopia water started from), cute town. A few places to stay on the beautiful river.

Also, lots of historical markers to see in Utopia.

This looks like it's pretty close to Garner. Now I wish I would have known to make a side trip while camping at Garner.

I'd really be interested in great places to camp in Texas. Not sure if I would encounter a lot of mosquitoes

Beautiful! I appreciate all your videos, and can't wait to get on some of these trails. Do I need to worry about snakes in Texas in late fall?
@secretsoftexas68723 жыл бұрын
Probably less likely in the late fall but there are always exceptions. I generally don't see venomous snakes very often. I actually see them more in southeast Texas (water moccasins).

If it is a warm day, it can coax a snake to get some sun... I keep to the trails, not tall grass. Be sure to wear good shoes on the rocky trails.
