Between people, it certainly CAN & often does get a LOT more diabolical than that. I’d put that under a heading of “slick,” or “callous,” & rather “glib” as a character feature. “Diabolical” is another way of saying “demonic,” which tends to involve the kind of harm that’s unresolvable. But you ARE right, on the whole! There’s a questionable intent behind calling someone “my boo,” who may or may not be that. When I was a kid in the 1980s, my parents had a male acquaintance who was a handsome ex-military dude, but still very fit for his age. As much as he talked about women and slept with them, the other adults would always say things to suggest he messed around with men. It all made sense because there was an older gay man, sort of like the plaintiff in this case, who drove a nice car and wore expensive clothes and jewelry. Whenever he came around, the friend would get in the car with him and go away for a bit. He would always return with money and new clothes. He would go into a rage when someone called him a punk ("DL" was not a term being used back then) or mentioned him having sex with that old man. As much as he denied it in public, he continued to go with that man whenever that car pulled up.
