The song was made by Asa (bass) for vocaloid and was a vocaloid hit before Wagakki band made it their own. The song is based on a short story of the same name and is about a young girl who was kidnapped and sold to a brothel in Yoshiwara, which is a red-light district in Edo (Tokyo). So really a sad story. The umbrella is there because it was a rainy day in Yoshiwara The "Shamisen" has three strings "Koto" The one used by Kiyoshi Ibukuro has 25 strings "Shakuhachi" Bamboo flute Still recommend this one. There are two songs Ikusa = Battle and Hakushu Kassai = applause Wagakki Band - 戦-ikusa- + 拍手喝采 (Hakushu Kassai)/ Dai Shinnenkai 2018 Ashita e no Koukai [ENG SUB CC]

This has always , despite it's sad story , been my favourite WB song to watch live - for the simple reason they ALWAYS have so much fun when they perform it . Beni ( shamisen ) in particular - did you notice her banging the cymbals ?

Check out 焔 (Homura) + 暁ノ糸 (Akatsuki no Ito) to see how talented they each are. Also Amy Lee from Evanescence did Bring Me to Life with them. Pretty cool stuff. Love the Shamisen player, Beni Ninagawa. She is fantastic.

This is one of my favourite Wagakki Band songs, even though it is not rock or metal at all. Just a very beautiful song. So I was extremely happy to see this beeing played live by Yuko three weeks ago at the Main Matsuri in Germany. It was not the whole Wagakki Band, but only Yuko, Kiyoshi (the Koto Player of Wagakki Band and Yukos husband) and some session musicians. But it was fantastic anyway and my highlight of the year 💖

Blimey, even if I had known of her concerts I wouldn't have been able to attend, because I was on holiday. I envy you.

Nice to see so many enjoying Wagakki Band through your videos. I would never guess Yoshiwara Lament is a sad song, but perhaps the mood of the music expresses hope that something good will happen one day.

It's a sad story, like DrAcula -oz1nz told. I like the jazz-vibes in it, the humor they show in the performance and there great talent. Also worth a look: Moonshine! My personally favorite of them so far.
