Random thought but when you held up suburbia the hexes reminded me of a game called Dominant Species. I’m not a huge worker placement person but I love thinky games. The only problem is it’s hard to find other players for those types of critical analysis games. That’s why Spirit Island is one of my favorites. It’s thinking but you can help people because you are playing with them instead of against them. Research Dominant Species and tell me what you think it just seems like something you’d like in my opinion.

Thanks so much for your comment and suggestion. I have looked at Dominant Species in the past. The theme definitely appeals to me. I'm just not sure how heavy the rules are. I will definitely revisit and check it out again though :)

@@BoardGameSanctuary there is a new one called Dominant Species Marine out soon for 2021. Supposedly it keeps the spirit of the old one but is watered down and more streamlined. I watched an interview of his wife talking about it supposedly it was his crowning achievement and he finished it right before he passed of cancer.

I’ve been trying to decide whether to get great western trail. Interesting that you rate it so highly. I may have to give it a try.

Yes I love Great Western Trail. It is a bit Euroey, but the depth of play and how the mechanisms come together is amazing. It is a little bit heavy on the rule side initially, but intuitive though. :) Definitely check it out!

Could you give more details/review on everdell? Tempted to get it. Also, “Cthulhu, death may die” Is it any good?
