Thoughts on this are simple. Lazy policing. It’s easier for him to prevent issues by controlling a couple of chaps than it is an entire crowd, so that’s what he’s doing.whether it’s 2 tier or not would depend on if he would do the same to a couple of random protesters at a St George’s parade. Honestly, I don’t know if they would or wouldn’t treat them the same but in this interaction i think it’s quite clear he figures you guys are just more likely to be intimidated into going away to stop trouble than they are.

Harsh reality is the police want an easy life. In theory Those two guys have as much right to be in the town area as those protesters however its much easier to warm the two men than it is the whole crowd who they are out numbered by. It's also easier to warm white British & slap sections etc people than it is foreigners who they can be accused of being racist towards.
