They 100% know where they are coming from. They are coming from the ocean. They have been RECORDED going into the ocean. They have been SEEN coming straight out of the ocean. (caspersight has video footage of them going into ocean, the governor and/or sheriff have witnessed 50 or so come out of the ocean)

The phrase was 'from the ocean' not 'out of the ocean'. That could mean from out to sea and it's more likely that from out at sea was the intended meaning. Looking at the coverage of this at least I haven't had to endure some clown say the word 'interdimensional', as if anyone has a clue what that is, or even if it's possibly a thing, at all.
