@@hught6885 I'm trying to recall now why I think his wife is Viet...it's been so long ago that I cannot say for sure. Maybe he stated it in the past? Or maybe I made it up. LOL! Are you sure it takes years? My brother brought his wife over pretty quickly after meeting her. And she lived in Vietnam whilst he was in the US. She flew here on her own and didn't marry him until several months after she got to the US, but that's like many years ago. Surely since he's an American and married her over there, it'd be much easier than what my brother did...I just googled. And it doesn't take years as you stated. You can do it in less than 6 months, maybe sooner in the case of Sonny.
@hught68852 жыл бұрын

She’s here in the US but illegally. he’s going through the process with their immigration attorney and he’s talking about years before she’s legal. I believe the laws changed in recent years (most likely during Trump administration).

@@hught6885 ...or it could be because she's from the Philippines. I think it's harder for Filipinos to come here as there are so many that want to come and so many already here...I could be wrong. And many of them get here via marriage, probably in way higher numbers than Vietnamese women so there may be restrictions in place. And the fact she's here illegally already, that might be the reason for the lengthy time. But I don't know for sure, just guessing.

It's funny that you said that whenever you were in Asia and someone had one of the pans with the little circles you recommended always buying their food. I actually bought 2 pans like that last year so I could make those at home. If you can't find one from Asia in the USA, you can search for a cast iron "Swedish pancake pan" and find ones that have either less shallow holes or the exact same half sphere ones, then use tapioca flour and rice flour to make all kinds of things you have seen KZbinrs eat on the street in Asia. Because they are made with tapioca or rice flour they are gluten free, unless you use something like a soy sauce that contains wheat. You should try the leaves they give you with your foods, some have strong flavors meant to go with the meat and accompany it.

That lemongrass "handle" to pull the pork/snail stuffing is GENIUS. Can you imagine putting two of that snails on a huge plate, some dressing, in a Western restaurant and charge that plate $8 ? Vietnamese just don't realize the value they get in eating their fresh and delicious food, at such a great price.

So maybe GDP per person in VN is 7500 usd. The government seems to lower the gross GDP, and currency exchange rate intentionally to get privileges for exports.
