The fans see the AR because, if you notice, everyone is watching through their phone. So they are most likely viewing through a synced app and see the AR elements that would be visible for the stream through their phones. Much like when they had the Elder Dragon in China, they had goggles or limited VR headsets for the crowd from what I remember.

Like what Doublelift pointed out, the audio was definitely not it for the livestream and it looked more hype on stage. Even Caedrel said something around those lines as well. He was looking back instead of the live feed that riot gave him and he did say it's so loud on live compared to what we heard on the livestream.

My 3 complaints with the opening ceremony: 1. The audience. There was no hype or energy. Ik koreans are more reserved. I’m Korean myself, but the audience being so quiet ruined it 2. I thought the mordekaiser and Leona sun explosion thing were cool, but the heartsteel cgi was so ass that I just couldn’t focus on anything else 3. As a kpop fan, the new jeans performance was so disappointing, not because the girls did poorly, but because the production was so shit imo.

Just don’t do any new ceremony. Just do old classic better. The new stuff is all bad. The animation band looks so bad . The „grind“ process where the dude goes through the portal was also bad . And the one homeless drugaddict and the rapper with so shitty Autotune were like the worst. ( I’m not a fan of autotune but at least autotune should make the voice and lyrics cleaner or help a little bit out ) this was just bad. The Kpop band just wasn’t for me. For me this year was even worse then last year. Only thing that makes this viable is Fakers Quotes in the teaser.
