I can confirm the river rock theory is true. I was on a Boy Scouts camp out and there happened to be a wet rock in the fire. Eventually it exploded and hit me in the shin and burnt a hole in my friend chair. I think the reason you guys rock did not explode is because the fire was not big enough therefore there was not enough heat to make the water condensed rock explode.

The thing about the Moss only growing on North side of a tree is actually not true but true at the same time to explain moss grows thicker on the Northside but it also Grows All Around the tree and the further north you go the more Moss you get and that's primarily because Moss likes darker danker sides with less sun exposure but it can also grow on all sides of a tree it just depends where you are geographically located

great video as always, but the crayon candle works. you need the paper to be burning. just like any candle, if there's too much wax (or the wick is too short) the flame will will go out and won't light again until you remove enough of the wax.

Okay fun fact the thing about the Moss doesn't always apply to every country or every continent. Depending on what part of the world you're in and what is climate is. Moss will grow in damp situations. So if you have a tree that is damper on the left side that it is on the right side the moss grow on the damper side. If you're in the Everglades or in New Orleans you have what's called old man's beard it is a species of moss grows in the trees and hangs off the limbs in the branches of the trees and hangs over the swamps. There is stagnant Moss that in the highlands will grow all across the ground. And cover the ground completely with moss and sphagnum Moss. And also stagnant Moss is also found on rocks and ground and dirt and trees and everything. And then there is the moss grows in the water.

I would say the Stone one is inconclusive. If you are extremely dehydrated and a very dry mouth a stone may help water your mouth down with saliva though. Im pretty sure ive seen this in a survival episode somewhere, where sucking on something will make your body things its like candy or something and help keep your mouth wet.

porous rocks can explode or blow apart in a fire. Thats why they say to use rocks formed by heat for lining fire pits. Granite, marble, quartzite are safe to line fire pits.

Haven't tried the wet rocks in fire myth before, but I have had rock split and even explode, shooting one or more pieces from it threw the air that were dry rocks in the fire. It depends on the type of rock though. Some kinds I had in don't explode, and other kinds did, like shale rocks. It does take time though for them to finally go, so maybe you didn't have those rocks in the fire long enough on cam to properly prove or disprove the theory.

Technically a waterproof shoes don't actually disaster water-resistant. The waterproofing doesn't actually prevent water from getting into your shoes. It'll help prevent it from soaking in a mediately but over time the water resistant will wear off in your feet are going to get soaked. If you were wearing boots instead of those tennis shoes you might have better chance of keeping your feet dry. But also if you're in a situation where you are stranded in your constantly worrying what shoes you're going to get a thing called footrot and your feet are going to get a fungal infection but you're going to cause your toes to write off. But there's a simple life hacks to use if that happens if you get footrot. And it is simply this fine a termite Mount cut off part of the termite Mount take it back to your campsite and wait on fire b art smoldering and then put your foot over the top of it so the smoke hit your foot and it will actually help cure the footrot. I learned that one from Les Stroud on Survival Man.

The one about the boots in the blisters. Here's the thing it honestly has nothing to do with the boots at all it has something to do with the socks and improper padding that is inside the boots. If the hiking boots are properly padded on the inside and you have the proper thickness of socks which it being boot sock or two or three tube socks. That padding is what is going to prevent the blisters from happening quickly. And also if you have time to stop when you do stop take off your hiking boots. Unless your feet and breathe for a little bit because being cooped up in hiking boots is going to cause blisters if you do not take them off from time to time when you have the time to stop when you're walking.
