I added a “no junk mail” sign to my mailbox. Now, I opt for email billing. It makes life so much more streamlined.

Hi. Congratulations on your upcoming travels. I often quote that helpful anonymous person who said, “Touch Paper Once” and deal with it the 1st time. On the other hand, I’m returning an expensive item ($350) and I had to gather up the original box and all parts. Good thing I had the box but I couldn’t find one piece so it has to go back without a part and I’m certainly going to be charged for that or possibly risk not getting my full refund. It’s difficult to toss things you might need-maybe a compromise could be an area for temporary items and if 3 months has passed then you can throw out every wire and screw?

The worst wasting of paper are catalogs. Some of these companies send them every week. I only buy from a few of them.

There are many helpful tips, but "there is no reason to keep any extra screws" I don't agree with. If I need to fix or make something and I am just missing a few screws, it's just very wasteful (time, money, gas, etc) to go to a store just to get those. With warranties, it depends where you are from. Manuals I don't keep, but I make sure to download them before throwing them away because as great as the digital era is, companies go bankrupt, they might discontinue e product, etc, so if you want to check a manual in 4-5 years, there is a possibility it will not be online anymore. Keeping things does not mean keeping the whole box with just a few things in it. As long as things are organized, some things can be kept.
