Then the Democrats are the moderates who tend towards mostly wanting what we have now with minor tweaks (Biden/Harris are here), then the far right which are more for European style socialist (Sanders) Then there are the issues where both sides agree but still throw mud at each other like immigration. The "big donors" from both sides love their cheap labor sources. The proposed assault weapons ban proposed by the Biden administration wants to ban semi-automatic weapons, this would mean most pistols, a massive amount of rifles as well as lots of shotguns. Detachable magazines are also on the list to get banned, if you know anything about guns this means close to 99% of guns right now. There are much more stipulations that this bill includes that account for an incredibly broad range of guns. I'm tired of hearing the argument "we don't want to ban guns just assault weapons" but the definition of "assault weapons" in Washington accounts for essentially all guns Americans own excluding muskets. Please read the actual bill you're advocating for instead of regurgitating the brain rot you hear from the mainstream media. I also don't watch Fox news but I do read the specific policies that concern me.

This is in addition to things like semiconductors, precision machinery, and son on. Food is expensive in Alaska because it is very difficult to obtain a good trade balance just by selling commodities. I saw him doing this a few times. Two years later, midterm election cycle, same bunk, to a couple, "6 weeks ago I was a ..." That person might be sincere, but somebody flipped all his switches and his lack of critical thinking now has him voting for people who will do nothing for him, give even more tax breaks to billionaires. Musk is worth about $250 billion, says he pays a 55% tax rate. (And he does on the tiny part of his income that is income. The margin loans he mostly lives on? Tax free. (I do this too.) Capital gains? 25%. Unrealized Cap gains, the vast majority of the $250B? Zero tax. You own a home? You are paying at least 1% per year. Musk owns over $200B in Telsa stock. That's property too. 0% per year. (On my unrealized capital gains I get the same advantage.) Musk paid the biggest federal tax in history $11B. $11B against $250B is 4.4%. Do you pay a 4.4% tax rate? The independents who should be Democrats are independents because they have no understanding of politics. Politics is always a compromise. If a special interest loses an issue or vote, they bellow the loudest, tell lies. In California we have an anti Gay proposition cooked up by real estate interests because a Gay and Lesbian group opposed their anti rent control prop. Do you think anyone is going to support them wanting to jack up rents? No, so they hide it as something else. I'm a Democrat not because I agree with everything they do, but because they most closely represent what I think is right. If you think a party or candidate is ever going to get anything but 'close,' you have no clue. I've know many politicians, City council reps, Congress reps, State reps, a mayor of Los Angeles. The one thing that is true of all of them is that many times they've voted on an issued differently than I would have. I know enough to shrug. I respect them and know they are never going to do everything I want them to do. Often if I disagree it's because I don't have the information they have. So I shrug and continue respecting them and voting for them. On the flip side, I've never voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Politically I disagree with him, but I have tremendous respect for him. This is how it's supposed to work. And hate hate hate... com'on. No one needs to look any farther, this is a monster who will only destroy.

Regardless of what happens, oil is too big for our modern society to let go of. Wind turbines require petroleum based lubricants to keep the gears running smoothly. Solar panels are made from oil and coal products. If we really wanted to be “green”, we’d use hydrogens derived from water and biofuels made from algae.

You can not try to bring a third party into being via a presidential election however. A third party needs to be grown from the grassroots over a period of years. 1 or 2 independents being elected now and then does not create a third party.

It's a shame that Alaska is so close to living off the land yet sends food Outside to be processed and shipped back into the state. Crude oil is sent to lucrative foreign markets and has been for decades even though it had refineries on the Kenai / Cook Inlet. Local Beluga whales are a protected species but contend with warming water and drilling noise. All the oil and gas extraction in Alaska doesn't provide lower fuel costs to Alaska residents.

It is well past time for this program. Mark Begich - D, former Senator for AK, Lisa Murkowski - R ,ran as Independent when primaried by a proto maga candidate. Mary Peltola - D replaced Don Young - R after his death. Anchorage Mayors are often Democrats. Alaska protects the rights of minors more than other states. In terms of rights of disposition, minor children have equal rights as their adult siblings. Minor children receive shares to permanent fund dividends in their own names. Biden signing in the Willow firld did more for filling the Pipeline than Trump allowing leases in ANWAR. Leases that weren't taken by petroleum extraction companies. It is a shame that Democrats refused to campaign for Alaska's delegates. All Alaska contributions were shipped outside and spent in "Battleground States". Alaska is far more competitive than the Pundits credit.
