RISC-V is a very promising open-source CPU architecture. I hope in the future we will have the fully libre hardware, firmware and software.

It's rumoured that Tenstorrent is going to sell it's Ascalon RISC-V core as a chip. Ascalon is an out of order core which issues 8 instructions per clock cycle. So it should be comparable to Apple's 8 wide ARM64 M series cores. That would be quite something.

It's way more ergonomic for me to switch ctrl and capslock. I never use capslock but I use ctrl all the time. When switching those two keys ctrl is way easier to reach with my left pinky finger. HHKB keyboards have a dedicated switch at the back to switch those two keys.

I remap caps to esc because I use vim alot. I heard of remapping caps to ctrl being good for emacs users.

@@abdul4515 You can set the remaps as keyboard layouts and change them dynamically for specific applications or global use.

It would be great if you could run `stress-ng` on this board (because those results are already available for quite a large number of RISCV-based boards), because that should give an idea whether or not this developer platform is finally both small and fast enough to be compared to ARM64 SBC that became available a couple of years ago. Until now, unfortunately, using QEMU inside a smallish KVM instance with 4 or 8 simulated cores on a modern Epyc-powered machine still easily puts available RISCV boards to shame - they're simply too slow to use as a single build machine (if you don't want to rely on cross-compiling).

They say 7nm but in reality there is no even one component that size in the chip.
