They way beatboxers have evolved over the past few decades is nothing short of insanity. It goes to show that the human voice is just as much of an instrument as anything we've created out of wood or metal.

@geosisbeatbox54784 ай бұрын
The technique he uses at 1:45 is called double voice. It is essentially a fancy voice crack. Showgo switches between falsetto and mixed voice quickly to get the effect. You can also get a similar but slightly harsher effect by switching from falsetto to chest voice. The effect is enhanced by choosing to land on a note right below the falsetto note vs a more random/less controlled lower note.
@korumoglАй бұрын
Thanks man, don't know anything about those stuff and your comment was the answer I was looking for to get some idea of the how.

@@korumogl Show-Go has a tutorial out where he explains this technique in detail. IIRC the trick is to switch from a relatively low falsetto voice to a high mixed voice. As a beat boxer I can say he has very finely balance EQ. It sounds better than it would in person, however it sounds as good as it does from our own ears (due to how close our mouth is to our ears) so its by no means less real to do such processing. The things that are constant regardless are his oustanding timing, and layering, switching from base to high vocals so rapidly, this guy super tight.

7:17 - Any GBB submissions will be as dry/pure as you can get them. They're very strict on what they will allow, so single mic, room echo, etc.
@YnEoS104 ай бұрын
Gbb submissions allow EQ, Reverb, and Compression added in post (though same settings throughout, not tweaked for individual sounds.) This is less processing than what you get in say, a music video. But I think what she’s looking for is a representation of what it sounds like when someone is beatboxing in the room with you, rather than on a professional recording setup.

As I understand it, that part you replayed he was overstressing his larynx so that his vocal cords slipped instantly from one tone to another. A bit like when a boy's voice is breaking, but he's doing it between two notes in tune. There's a technical name for this technique but I don't know what it is. Having a larynx so healthy and strong that you can make it break on cue is hard enough, but choosing what note it breaks from and what note it breaks to are magnitudes of difficultly beyond that. I think you can either do it or you can't. There's no inbetween.

''how he's getting that sound'' is probably the bass?! It's mostly done with, and I'ma try to explain this as simple as I can, with like, when you cough, or scrape your throat. Hold that sound, and go one with it. Not just scrape, but hold the scrape, and lower or pitch it. This is how we beatboxers often use bass voices, or even robotic voices. It totally ruins your throat the first few weeks of trying this. But, after that, your throat get's used to this, and you can actually do it without getting your throat hurt. Beatboxing is pretty hard, but, like everythang, you learn how to do it while you do it. And yes, we sometimes make silly noises, and then sometimes we be like ''eyy, that sounded pretty dope, let's try this again'' or ''let's combine it with that sound''. It's trial and error. Now, I ain't even half as good as this dude is. I'm like, a beginner. But I can do some dope beats, sometimes, and even singing and robotic voices while beatboxing isn't hard to me no more. The one thing that really is hard. And this goes for ALL beatboxers around the world... Holding your hands still, while beatboxing! It's basically impossible 😹😹
