My colleague said this evening she would eat her mother's Vietnamese caramelized Pork. When I looked up the dish I noticed that I happen to have all the ingredients in my fridge. I wanted to make the dish this evening but when I watched this video the cooking time is too long. I just came from the gym and I am very hungry and will make my own Indonesian/Dutch variation for the evening. This weekend I will try the Vietnamese recipe. I subscribed.

Your vietnamese braised pork belly looks amazing... interesting to see you eat pork belly with knife and fork. Do you use chopsticks?

You're so wrong. This is a traditional Chinese dish, not Vietnamese. That's why it's called "Thịt Kho TÀU". Tàu means Chinsese. When we say "Phố Tàu", we mean China Town or "Người Tàu" means Chinese people. The reason is the Cantonese people who migrated to South Vietnam (Which was truly Khmer's land) by boat (tàu) so they were called "Người Tàu". So "Thịt Kho Tàu" is only a variation of Chinese Braised Pork Belly (Hong Shao Rou) which is a Chinese traditional dish. Please make the correction.
