I’ve recently become enthralled with analog electronics and I’ve fallen in love with the Omnichord and hope to get one someday. It’s fun to see old technology from before my time regaining popularity :]

I'm sure you'll have a great time with your Omni! Good luck in finding one! I bought my three on eBay.

Such an intriguing instrument. Dave Knudson/Minus the Bear brought me here.

A great review on this instrument that I just found out about today. I was lucky enough to find one in excellent condition in original case for a price that I was felt was reasonable. Can't wait to try it out! Newly subscribed. 🎶

Well done! Thanks for enjoying this video. When you can, try it through reverb, delay, chorus effects, etc., it really comes alive then!

A friend of mine ( just died of COVID in 21) gave me this modal years ago, I play with it now and then. I also play guitar and ukulele. I'm hoping to find the Qchord that came after or one of the upgrades, it's a shame that products like this go out of print, doesn't make sense.
@morganfisherart2 жыл бұрын
I had a Q-chord and sold it - the sounds were typical standard digital ones, not interesting. I like the simplicity of the earlier models. I also did get an Omni 200M as it has MIDI out.

@bigdee2507 - A new model just came out - the OM-108. But I still prefer the old ones!

I just saw one of these listed online and had to learn about it. This would be the perfect kid instrument if it were not so expensive. No chord theory to stand in your way of making complex chord movement and the arpeggios sound so nice and sweet.

Keep looking in eBay, etc., you might find a bargain! The earliest OM-27 model is the simplest for kids.

What about the Casio PT-1 Morgan? You showed that to me back in the day and I bought one! My kids plagued me by playing the demo tune over and over, so I removed the little rubber button. But they figured out they could use a pencil tip to start it! DRAT!

Pretty stiff review, guy. Wanna hear you PLAY that thang
@morganfisherart3 жыл бұрын
No, mate, not stiff - factual. This is a demo, not a concert. I wanted to explain all the functions and keep it short. I'm sure you can find dozens of Omnichord performances on youtube. Here's one modestly-titled example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHPVqX9-orSVrcU

Atrocious music toy. No wonder Suzuki stopped making them.
@crybaby32053 жыл бұрын
Fun fact, they didn't :)
@morganfisherart3 жыл бұрын
As used by David Bowie, Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, Mark Mothersbaugh, Gorillaz, etc... Depends how you use it. With the addition of a nice reverb and other effects, I have enjoyed making some atmospheric, expressive music with it. Suzuki still make one, renamed the Q-Chord.
