What an awesome song. At 75 years old, I can honestly say, this is by far one of the finest country songs of all times. My grand daughter, who dearly loves music of all genres, played this for me one day and I was blown away. At sixteen years old, Morgan is her dream husband. :) I purchased three tickets to his concert on the 22nd of this month. One for her, one for her best friend and one for my daughter, to take her. You would think I gave her a hundred thousand dollar barrel racing horse.

Uh, hell no it wasn't! It's about getting sober and finding value in yourself via how your seen by your soulmate, the one person you cannot hide from. @@stanley-fghijk441 You're upset because someone covered a song you enjoyed that was written by an older artist; well news flash, people can cover songs, and they can do them very well, if not better. It's certainly not new, I mean shit, Hank Williams covered a few songs in his career live in concert by his idols. That's and old legend, yet people cover his songs. I think you need to look in yourself, stop holding a song to its original artist, let people take their music and turn it into their version, for the world to hear. Morgan Wallen is no new individual to pain; this song definitely wasn't a publicity grab. You can hear the emotion along with the original driven point of the song; for people to hear the tune, the song he first heard, and his emotional take on it. Grow yourself out of your restricting ideologies, Morgan Wallen doesn't need to be criticized for his adaptation of another man's art, since he definitely isn't the only one who's covered this song in particular bub.
@stanley-fghijk4413 жыл бұрын
@@unlovingly No, I'm laughing at this because this hack took a deeply personal song written by someone who has more talent in his fingernail clippings than Morgan has in his entire body and appropriated it to bolster himself and come off as an artist of depth when he isn't. This song was great when I first heard it as it got released but later leading to present day I completely understand it. I’m living it and after patiently waiting for the one in my life I was supposed to spend my last days and years of blessed with years….love is more than magic and greater than anything I could ever have imagined or dreamed of. I dedicate this to my soulmate, my love of a lifetime, my future….Jbaby! I love you!

This song shows no mercy. It’s too romantically and emotionally concentrated. It’s like a sword to the heart.

A heart on the run Keeps a hand on a gun You can't trust anyone I was so sure What I needed was more Tried to shoot out the sun The days when we raged, we flew off the page Such damage was done But I made it through, 'cause somebody knew I was meant for someone So girl, leave your boots by the bed We ain't leaving this room 'Til someone needs medical help Or the magnolias bloom It's cold in this house and I ain't going out to chop wood So cover me up and know you're enough To use me for good I put your faith to the test When I tore off your dress In Richmond on high I sobered up, I swore off that stuff Forever this time And the old lover's sing "I thought it'd be me who helped him get home" But home was a dream One that I'd never seen 'til you came along So girl, hang your dress out to dry We ain't leaving this room 'Til Percy Priest breaks open wide And the river runs through And carries this house on its stones Like a piece of driftwood So cover me up and know you're enough To use me for good So girl, leave your boots by the bed We ain't leaving this room 'Til someone needs medical help Or the magnolias bloom It's cold in this house and I ain't going out to chop wood So cover me up and know you're enough To use me for good So cover me up and know you're enough To use me for good

I've always loved this song and it had alot of meaning to me but even more now that I left behind everything with nothing in hand but a beat up car and faith to pull into the driveway of my terminal cuz, SIS, friend and soulmate (this I'm sure of) we hunkered down for many of her last days and listened to this song and everything felt right! Now this song I listen to tonight and just think about devotions, coffee, laughter and madness she'll always be my angel and I hope that I was hers

Mad respect for Jason Isbell for writing this song, but Morgan Wallen kills it with this cover. He makes this song even better! (I know this might be trivial, but the actual lyrics are: "Carries this house on the Stones like a piece of driftwood..." Because the Percy Priest Dam flows into the Stones River here in Nashville.)
@NicRidic4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say he killed it....this is a watered down version if anything. When Isbell performs the song you can hear/feel the emotion in his voice that created this song. Wallens , I can hear simplified chords and vocal editing.
@BSimms4 жыл бұрын
@@NicRidic yeah he didn't write it so he can't relate to the lyrics and put emotion to it. he sounds 100x better than jason tho. watch this if you think this has too much vocal editing kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqTJdaONbLWMhJo

BSimms if he actually thinks it’s vocal editing then that says a lot about Wallen’s voice

I recently wrote a song called A Voice In the Crowd and think Morgan would do it justice. It's about the civil unrest going on in our country right now and I have to say it's a pretty bad ass song. I really love this song too❤
