Not Another CRAP Kit? Hopefully...

Hey guys! Today I am testing a fellow youtube creator's own craft kit! This is by NerdeEcrafter (Jackie) and it's called "Not Another Crap Kit." This is an INTENSE kit that involves plaster, clay, sculpture, resin and painting to create your fully custom figurine. This is such a creative idea for a kit. I am a complete beginner when it comes to using polymer clay, BUT I am going to do my best to create something really cool. Hope you guys like it!

I like your bear. It turned out really cute. I think the apron was a really good compromise. And considering the 'doesn't stand on her own' you could always just glue her on a little base so it isn't really that much of a problem.

The fact that you're an artist, painter, creater (whatever) and can see through the lens of criticism and improvement on its own just makes you that much more of a creator, an artist, a painter. We learn more when we realize what we don't know. Such a good video on developing and trying new skills.

Super fun to watch with a great result. However, I would have loved to see you push through and try some new stuff. I know it is super daunting sometimes to try new mediums. Resin really isn't hard to do. The way Jackie's kit sets it up is really easy and is a good introduction into resin and it really changes the potential of the resulting figure. I really hope you can maybe pick up the second kit and try a more ambitious project using the things you didn't end up using.

@@troebeliewoep Moriah does strike me as someone who gets stressed about new things but, still has fun doing it and can utilize what she learns to make her art even better. Progress is good in small doses and you aren't making huge jumps that make you go in over your head. Getting experience with resin here is easier since she would be following a structured kit. Resin is fairly easy when doing it for small things. Especially when UV resin is very useful as opposed to part A/part B with a 24 hour cure time type of resin.

"Intense kneading" Moriah, you might practice with old fondant. It dries and hardens over time so to make it soft again you have to do a lot of massaging and kneading, it also tastes delicious and you can't over-knead it. Great for beginners.

I like your bear. I watched this with my daughter who is working on her own sculpture. We have a broken arm and bad feet as well. I was able to help her get the figure to stand my adding some layers to the feet. The lack of booty on the figure does contribute to its forward falling nature 🤣 But its still a really great kit 🥰

I think it's great that you dived right in. I haven't ordered a kit because the thought of all those materials and tools kind of intimidated me, like an embarrassment of riches, and I think I needed to see someone say "OK, we got all this stuff, but I'm only going to use this, this, and this" and get a result like that adorable little bear.
