❤️❤️ Ingredients ❤️❤️❤️ Katsu: - 100g pork loin (or beef loin for our non pork eaters friends) - Salt. - Pepper. - Cake flour. - Eggs. - Bread crumbs Egg mixture: - 1/2 onion. - 2 eggs - 50ml (1/4 cup) water - 2g (1/2 tsp) bonito soup stock. - 20ml (1 1/3 tbsp) soy sauce. - 15ml (1 tbsp) cooking wine. (Optional) - 15ml (1 tbsp) sweet sake (Mirin) (optional) - 7g (1,5 tsp) sugar Recipe: 🍽️ 1- Cut the muscle of the pork loin, to prevent it from shrinking, then sprinkle salt and pepper. 2- Coat it in cake flour from both sides, then in the mixed eggs, then in the bread crumbs in turn. 3- Deep fry in oil at about 170° CELSIUS (338° FAHRENHEIT), remove when golden brown, and cut it horizontally into even pieces. 4- In a pan on medium heat, add the water, the bonito soup stock, soy sauce, cooking wine, sweet sake and sugar. 5- Mix well and add the chopped onions. Boil until the onion softens, and add the cutlet pieces. 6- Pour 2/3 of the egg mixture around the cutlet. Origin: this meal is originated from Katsudon, a Japanese dish that consists of breaded deepfried pork cutlet,fried eggs and vegetables served over rice. It originated in Japan during late Edo period. Why was it chosen for Heizou: 1- "Katsu" is a homophone of the verb "katsu" (勝つ) which means "to win) 2- There's a Japanese myth where the suspects are given Katsudon during an interrogation and they'd speak the truth with tears (which is sadly not true) and the funniest is that this dish "the only truth" is described as Heizou's secret weapon in the dish description. 3- "The Only Truth" title is inspired by the main line of the popular Japanese anime "case closed" where the main character is a young detective. 4- for the last piece of the puzzle, Heizou adores fried food. As you can see, this dish fits Heizou extremely well. Shout-out to the devs who must have made a ton of research for a 4 star character special dish.
