This video is all about her „flying hands“, just like Mariah had them. And there was nothing wrong with the first chorus. Exactly like the Mariah version… And it‘s not about the driving bus. Maybe you just don‘t like the song (or at least the Mariah version of it). But she exactly nailed every note as it was meant to be!

Hey, Jesse! For context, she was very young here (in her late teens), still fledgling, still developing, yet showing flashes of her enormous potential. You mentioned her "lower register". Yes, *her lower register was still developing during this time.* She could already support very low notes, but it was inconsistent. This song arrangement was originally recorded by Mariah Carey when she was about 30 years old. Taking on Mariah Carey's alto range is very difficult for any female soprano (Mariah is a natural alto). It's understandable why Morissette got a bit shaky on the lowest notes of this song. It was not until 2021 when Morissette's lower register began to really blossom. To see the most recent improvements to Morissette's voice, you'd have to look for performances after 2021, after she turned 25 years old. In the meantime, enjoy her older performances! She is definitely worth monitoring. A future legend, in my honest opinion.

She has a wide and developed chest voice range and her vocal pipes are very open due to excellent technique. She can bring a lot of power and resonance in the mid to upper range of her voice, and her lows have a lot of depth as aided by excellent technique (i.e. larynx position, vowel placements). She is capable of singing clean tones, but she likes to add a lot of textures and distortions to her voice, switching into different vocal placements throughout a song, giving her a distinctive, edgy sound. I will curate a list of *recent* performances for you in the next comment. Hopefully you can react to them as part of your Morissette journey🙏🤗

Why are you counting or anticipating her flaws though lmao? It is very common in singers. There are perforances where they had some flaws. They are humans. Morissette cracked once, did many sloppy runs/riffs, did off-key/became pitchy/out of tune, whistle did not come out, etc. just like other singers.

@@antonioencarnacion8929i actually did have extra classes and all in music and music history , but never stated i have anything to add there as i kinda went through school with minimal effort. I do know a lot about myself and mention that is disliked the choices on the lower notes. Just personal taste. Even added that i might be wrong about those notes being of pitch. I am positive in recent versions of this cover she would be able to do a better job on the low register. You might go out with your musical degree and disagree. That’s fine. Also don’t have any studies to back up my next claims. But i do feel like you’re being negative as a person. Even in a toxic way. Yet again this is how i experience you. Actually had classes and have degrees on feedback, on IT, how algorithms work and how to create engagement. I would be able to build youtube. KZbin is a playground for me in seeing myself fail in some types of sending out my thoughts and showing energy. This is actually me working on myself in presenting myself and getting more comfortable with english. Guess it’s clear i need work on that, which i am actually doing. Being helped out a lot by genuinely good and fun people You took your musical degree and used it to be a toxic person in a youtube comment section without showing any knowledge or any skill to back anything up. I am not asking you to do that btw. please not, take your degree and negativity on to someone you agree with. Then you actually might be someone pleasant.
