There's a lot of mainstream vocalists who's doing great not because they sold their soul but because of their strong social media presence and connection to their fan. Morissette isn't active enough tbh. Which I think is a personal choice but who cares though, that's her choice. But in marketing side, being a singer especially if your a top vocalist, connection to your fans regardless if it's your official fandom nor casual listeners you should be kept in touch with them. that's on HER how she will promote herself and craft. We're on digital era now. Everything revolves on the internet now. Social media presence is the key to have a big name on the Industry. It can be mentally challenging but that's the risk you need to face. It's about RISK with proper usage of the social media platforms. But base on my observation, Morissette is contented on 100+ people on her official fandom. She doesn't connect and kept away herself from social media but I respect that, especially if you just want to release music after music. Like you don't care about getting money, recognition and fame with your releases.
