The Church saying that they don’t use tithing funds for the leaders’ “living allowance” or the City Creek Mall is like a rich kid getting a huge amount of money from his parents and investing that money, and then claiming that the return on the investment has nothing to with his rich parents. How stupid do the church leaders think we are?

Dishonest?! The LDS church?! No way!! 😂😂 I love how they say in their usual cavalier manner, “none of the money used came from tithing funds.” All the while knowing as you mentioned, the financial investments the funds did come from were from investments using, yep, you guessed it… tithing funds! It’s like a thief saying, “I didn’t steal the money from you, I stole the money you gave your friend to hold for you, so technically it’s ok.”

“Living Allowance” is a way to avoid federal and state payroll taxes. The recipients of “Living Allowance” are prohibited from filing this salary as a salary. Just one more financial and moral deception by the corp/church.

So the living allowance includes a paid for home fully furnished a car all expenses paid private school for children and tuition for older children maid services that includes ironing, food prep, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, errand running also included is money for gifts for family members and the home’s landscaping ie lawn mowing etc is all paid for and provided by the church. This list is not inclusive there are more perks just too many to list.
