Just a marvelously talented woman.....who, sadly, abused her talent and herself, and was too late to reverse the damage. Even Liza, of all people, tried to intervene after spotting her in the audience in a cocaine toxic state and had her brought backstage, to no avail. So many uber talented performers ruined by their dependencies on drugs and alcohol and in the case of Nell Carter, such a waste yet we have these videos to cherish and remind urselves what a wonder she was....along with Garland, Joplin, Hendrix, Monroe, +++++++++ and the memories and gifts they gave to us all and which we can be reminded of in these videos, films, soundtracks, recordings, etc.Love the double sense of the word, mean, Waller uses in this song to intend different feelings and emotions.
