I commend you and your family for the wonderful job you are doing taking care of your father in law/father. It’s one of the most difficult jobs. Unless you’ve been through it you don’t understand. There are so many aspects that even your channel can’t show. He’s very blessed to have you all! Always be kind to loved ones with dementia, they are confused and realize they are losing control of their lives and causes them more stress than they no how to handle ! They need reassurance! My husband of 50 years had Alzheimer’s and it was really hard for both of us, but I took care of him the best I could ! And I would do it again if it meant I could have him back with me!!! He’s been gone 13 years the 31st of this month and I miss him everyday!! It’s a horrible disease !!! Grandpa Ed is awesome and he truly loves his family, my heart hurts for him because I no what he is going through!!! God bless him!!! ❤😊

I lost my beloved 95 year old Dad and best friend a year and a half ago. I lived with him and my Mom for the last six months of his life, and it was the most challenging thing I've ever done -- and by far the most rewarding. Even on the roughest day, I knew there'd come a time I would do anything for one more of those days with Dad. I am touched by how much you cherish Ed, and how much he gives in return. I'd give anything to have one more of those days of answering Dad's same questions over and over, and seeing his smile.

It’s hard being dependent on others when you are used to being independent. If possible show Ed how to get his own breakfast. It’s also hard on caregivers especially with all the repetitive questions but you guys are doing a great job!

@@judyandrews2543 The opposite is also true, if they have to get their own breakfast they will forget and tell you that they did eat which is not true. I have seen it many times with the elderly that is not taken care of by relatives, but still stay in their own house and have no one to take care of them. They forget to eat on a daily basis, take a shower daily, put on clean clothes, getting lost the moment they step outside, etc.
