I love these ideas. So simple. It’s always help to see how mom with large kids put together their homeschool day.

Love, love, love! As a mom of 7, I am so excited to start implementing this! I got me a new dry erase board and am ready to take some ideas and tweek our schedule and try to get back to smoother running days. We have some things in place already but definitely need certain areas to run more smoothly. I think this will really help! You inspire me when I'm feeling discouraged. Thankful to the Lord for you, Julie! ~Amber Hildebrant

When we were homeschooling our 9 kids we always started at 9 with breakfast over and beds made to start our day. Everyone had a room to pick up during the afternoon We called it the 15 min pick up. Shower schedule was my greatest idea. Lol. Made life so much easier. I miss it. ☹ We had so much fun! Love your videos!

Yes! 9 am start is what we do as well with 8 kids , 1 graduated. Thorough out the years I have slowy changed that really early start time for school . when kids are focused they can get it all done in about 3 or 4 hours.

Very nice organization....This also is teaching the children a great deal of responsibility for the 'real' world... Love ya GiGi

We do something similar for our 5 children. I just made a lunch clean up schedule, it works so well. It seems writing it out for them makes it more official.. 😀

Thanks for sharing your day. Yes it is anxiety when the menu didn't get planned for the week. I think our magnesium goes way down from stress of no menu. I find if I plan a menu and something comes up I can always rearrange meals to work for another day if needed. I try to do my menu planning on Sunday afternoons.

Do they have to finish by a certain time? This is my issue

I love how you help your kids follow a schedule, but you're also laid back and enjoying life! Do you have a schedule or anything for mealtime cleanup or "end of the day" tidy? When it's not a holiday season, do you also have your kids do the copywork as part of their schedule? Thank you.. It's great to learn from you!

After dinner we just work together to do a quick clean up. The older kids have outdoor chores at night, putting up the animals and soaking they’re grain for the next morning. Copywork is usually on my checklist, but the advent study that we are doing this month has a daily section for reflecting and writing down your thoughts. So we are just doing that.

Did you have a chart like this when you had several very young kids? I feel overwhelmed because each day looks different especially with a baby and an infant. I feel like I start a new schedule and things change so I fall off the wagon 😜
@jasonandjulie3 жыл бұрын
No I did not. I was actually in the same boat as you! Life with only little ones is completely unpredictable. I would just keep them by you whenever they want to help, and teach them tasks that way. It will give them a sense of satisfaction (and keep them from getting into trouble while you’re busy!) 😀 There will come a time when you can implement something structured. It didn’t happen for me until my oldest kids were school age, and even then it took a long while before we settled into a plan that worked
