Hola!! I have a rocket apartamento and are good at making espresso, will a linea mini make my drinks better?
@iBarista2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Well the Mini will give you more consistent shots due to a dual boiler with a PID. Thanks to the rotary pimp the pressure is also more consistent (but I doubt people will taste the difference). Steaming milk on the LM is like a commercial machine. I think it’s marginally better, where most of the difference lies is the build quality, speed and the amount of coffee it can produce per hour.

@iBarista2 жыл бұрын
This country is too expensive to leave it on unfortunately 😂. I’ve set mine to 1.6. There isn’t really an ideal pressure. It depends on your preference and/or ability to steam the milk properly. The higher the pressure the faster it’s done. But with a pressure set too low you might run in to the problem of not being able to integrate the microfoam with larger quantities of milk.

I keep my Linea on all the time. Do you know if this is not recommended? It would be tough to wait for the warm up
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
larry saylor Well, if you make “enough” shots during the day it’s actually recommended by La Marzocco. But (for me) since the machine is sitting still during the nights and during some parts of the day and I pull at max 5 doubles a day, you can run the risk of scale build up. So i think if you have 5 or more shots and they’re relatively spread out during the day then you should be fine. (This was recommended by a LM technician) I don’t turn it on and off after each cup but when I won’t use it for lets say 4/5 hours or more then it’s turned off.

@iBarista3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ilya! Since there is always coffee left behind in the grind chamber in this style of grinders, I tend to purge it if I didn’t use it for a longer period of time. The coffee turns stale and dries out when exposed to air after a certain period of time. So it also changes extraction time which also effects the flavor. All this turns it into a bad cup.

TJ Sullivan Hi TJ, I used to own a Technika and a Mechanika. So no experience with the Synchronika. But I heard really good things about it from someone who owns one. But on the other hand he also said that if he had the money he’d buy a Mini. It all comes down to preference, willingness to pay the premium and looks really. ECM’s are prosumer machines while the Mini is a machine that’s been downsized from a professional machine for home use. I’d recommend finding a store that carries them and try both out. Awesome machine you have there. Must admit I have recently changed to the devil Nespresso but miss the proper machine. Check out my channel if you are interested in watches.

@@iBarista I reached the bottom of mine, I'm deciding between the rancilio classe 5 and the Marzocco linea mini :c

I’m between the Mini and the GS3. Do you ever wish you got the GS3? Thanks
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
r. michael wilensky personally I couldn’t be happier with the mini. If i was offered the choice (even at the same price) I’d chose the mini again.

If you have a double boiler machine why not steam de milk at the same time?
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jesús. I don’t do that when I’m filming so that I can show everything in better detail. Thanks for asking.

Which scale do you recommend?
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
Peacefully Simple I personally can recommend the scale that I’m using (Brewista) for 3 main reasons: 1. It has a rechargeable battery 2. It’s accurate (0.1 gr) up to 2 kg 3. Cheaper than most scales with the same features. The only downside I have with this scale (same probably with the acaia pearl) is that fitting 2 larger cups is possible but a bit tricky. Hope this helps!

No point in having a línea mini if you don’t dial in your coffee, that shot is defo overextracted...Just make another slightly coarser simple
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input, I was about a second and 3 grams out, so like I said in the vid it needed a little adjustment which I did for my next shot. Coffee still tasted fine but I needed my caffeine more than a perfectly dialed in coffee. (which was my second cup) :)

hey @iBarista wrong extraction. you have to let the pressure rise up for about 5 seconds. after that slowly pull the lever to the left. and to end the extraction do not pull the lever to the right too fast. greetings from a barista at a cafe.
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
Hello Pascal, this isn’t a flow or pressure control lever like the original linea lever machine. There’s a switch behind the lever for the pump to only turn on or off :)

Steam the milk first (or together with the shot). Never leave an espresso just sitting there. It breaks down faster than the steamed milk does.
@iBarista4 жыл бұрын
I usually time both correctly. But because I was trying to focus on the details with the cam, steaming milk and preparing a shot while filming isn’t an easy task with two hands. But normally i do both at the same time 😉
