Interesting milking set up. My late Uncle Bill, Shirley and Dale Erickson milked in a parlor 6 cows a side. after they milked with the gutter system 12 cows on one side and 10 cows on another side.

I spent 35 years driving 1.5 hours on I-75 & I-69 traffic to a factory job, then being thrown in with people whose only mission in life is to mess with people for 9 hrs a day, then drive home 1.5 hours ... yep farm life is tough but it has its blessings as well! good job Kip on video..

You hit the nail on the head about hiring young people to work on the farm. I worked 43 years as a toolmaker for the man. Now that I'm retired I realized I should have been a farmer. Dealing with people in a shop environment is total drama everyday. Farming has more perks and benefits to your life and health than a shop job. Hang on to those young guys, they know what farming life is like. God Bless you and your family and Grant man. That's your future blood to carry on your dad's lifestyle. Oh, did your dad get into his rehabbed new house? 👍🙏

Nice to have gentle cows. It pays to take the time to train them that way. Saves lots of trouble and bruises that way. Lance, glad you're back. Keep it up in the classroom too. Attention to detail in everything one does pays off in whatever your endeavors may be.

Yeah it nice to have good help that you don't need to be there for the work to get done. Have you ever looked into a variable speed vacuum pump. It make it a lot quieter place to milk in the parlor and cost less to run and a lot less wear and tear on vacuum pump. Just a thought

Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for showing us around the milk parlor. Most interesting operation. My compliments to you on how you run the labor end of things with family members. That is absolutely wonderful. Like you say good labor is hard to come by. Give them incentives and reasons to be a part of the operation and it works. You do a great job at that Kip and family. You have a nice operation. Thanks. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy.

I like the harvest videos. I like the ones where Kip shows Lonnie, etc doing the milking. BUT, there is nothing better than seeing KIP HIMSELF doing the milking. This is a good one. Also, I like the ones when Kip points out a soft-eyed cow, or maybe an even-tempered milk-wagon. This is another good one, Kip!

Can't believe how quiet and docile your cows are in the parkour. Do you ever get many that kick out or kick the units off- there's always going be an odd few anywhere, the less the better thou! Unruly cows make milking miserable!!!!

You are clueless aren't you? Do you realize just where bovine parts are in you daily life? I can promise you many more than you think. Farmers are among the hardest working people you will meet. Without farmers or cattle that go to slaughter your life would be a hell of a lot different. For starters not only would you have your sad life you would be very hungry.
