These things are a reminder to be prepared always! Crystal and Aron had a year (and half) ago a big power bank that you could upload with a solar panel. We bought one and it's always full! So we can boil water make coffee and if it's take long the freezer can be huck up on it. And we have a lot of lamps on batteries. And food that is easy to make. Just a tip from the Netherlands 💜

In the future, do you have any camping stoves that use butane? Or the BBQ will get you some hot breakfast. When you prank them with the power out at the breaker box switch the lights off as well as the stove and microwave hahaha.

I'm in Houston and we just had a horrible storm complete with 2 tornados. My area of town was hit the hardest with both tornados being within 10 miles from my house. That being said most of the city lost power at 6pm Thursday. Still 400k homes are out. Mine came on this afternoon (Sat.) at 3:40. At its peak over 1 million without power and only a few traffic lights functioning.

My parents' deep freeze's alarm beeps when there is no power to let you know the food is in danger. Our battery for our land line phones also beeps to let us know it's in use. We can't easily stop either during a power outage so that makes sleeping hard.

Living in South Africa means dealing with frequent power outages, lasting anywhere from 2 to 6 hours at a time. To combat this, we rely on gas stoves, inverters, and solar panels to ensure we always have electricity. It's all part of the fun and games of living in this country. 🙃

We frequently lose power sometimes for days at a time. We are on a well so the pump doesn't work to give us any water at all (not even cold). I once got ready for work in the dark washing with water we have stored for such situations only to find out at work my panties were inside out: haha.

When our power goes out, our alarm system just beeps forever. It is sooo irritating. You can try and turn off the alert from the system, but a few minutes later, it comes back on. i've yet to figure out what's more annoying though...power out or the water out. I remember this one time the city was fixing a break in the lines near us, and the water was out for like 7 hours straight...use the bathroom, can't flush, can't wash your hands after, can't brush your teeth, ice machine wouldn't work, can't wash your hair, can't use water in the Keurig, couldn't water the garden, couldn't steam my shirts...you forget, how much you use these things until they don't work. YES, I know, first world problems.
