I love the crunching! Opportunity, Maisie hates getting her harness on, too! When she sees it and we make eye contact, she runs to the deepest, darkest corner of her kennel! Once it's on, we're good to go.

Westie's are the greatest. They are so loving. Every morning my Westie gets so excited, like he hasn't seen me in a long time when most times he probably slept beside me most of the night. I usually keep kibble down all the time for my dog, not sure if this is something I should be doing. And mine always has baked chicken for his dinner. He goes crazy when he hears the word 'chicken'. When we put the harness on our dog, we put him on an end table which is too high for him to jump off. (although he could really jump if he 'really' wanted to) Hugs to Sami. :)

I really enjoyed this video❣️ I have a nine year old Westie He thinks he is still young! Our day together is a lot like yours. He loves our walks but dislikes his harness too. Also he has allergies and I feed him prescription dogfood. He is a wonderful little guy ❣️

I'm sorry to hear that Sami is having difficulties with allergies. You probably already know that lamb and rice dog food often helps alleviate allergies. Also, many people bathe their Westies too often. They shouldn't be bathed more than every 2-3 months. I have found That Tropiclean Whitening shampoo is wonderful for my Westie's skin- all natural ingredients and very soothing. Good luck!

Thank you for your thoughts! Yes, I often cook some lamb for him and add to his kibble :) He now eats duck & rice kibble which seems good for him. I know frequent baths normally aren't so good, but in his case (dust mites allergy) it's recommended we bath him weekly, with specially formulated shampoo, to get rid of the mites that attach to his skin and cause the itching. We can see that whenever we skip a week, he starts having flare ups and he sometimes has red pimple-like bumps on his skin. If we keep up his weekly baths, though, combined with food and washing bedding often, it seems to be under control. 🙏🏻❤️

Rice is carbohydrate which are composed of sugars. All carbs are Brocken down to their constituent sugars…..which are inflammatory and no good for an6 arthritis or inflammatory problems such as allergies. This is a fact. Kibble is no good either.

Sami and my Archie could be twins! He is 14. Still looks young though. He’s on a grain free diet which has helped with his skin allergies.

I have been following you for almost as long as you have had Sami. I have a female Westie named Cricket. She is 20 months old now. She and Sami look a lot alike in size and shape! It is always interesting to watch your videos and keep up with all your news. We can relate to a lot of it! Cricket is an extremely picky eater and is not food motivated when it comes to training. I was so sorry to see when Sami started having allergies. One thing different about my Westie is that her skin is almost black. At first I thought that was a worry as it got darker and darker as she started out pink skinned as a puppy. I bought her from a very reputable breeder and I called them. They said they have found that Westies with dark skin tend to have less allergies, so they have encouraged that in their selective breeding, and so far Cricket has no allergies. We have 4 cats and they are her best friends. When they outside, she finds them and tries to drag them back into the house by the skin of their neck! At night, she knows it is her job to assist us in rounding them up to bring inside so the are safe. It is very funny to watch! We appreciate the Calendars for the phone and desktop and faithfully change them to the new ones every month. Thank you for all the hard work! We feel like we know you and we love following you and Sami!

(and kudos on the name!😍😅) I loved the story about the cats 😂We always wonder what Sami would be like if we got a kitten, I bet it would be fun, I can't imagine what it must be like with 4! I am glad to hear Cricket is allergy free so far - and I hope she stays that way. It is pretty much past the age when allergy makes itself known (1 year, 1 and a half) so hopefully she will not have any issues. Darker skin indeed is easier to care for, I realized this too. Sami has mostly pink skin and our groomer always mentions how it's so sensitive, especially the paws ☺️ Thank you for following us, sending a big hug from Sami to Cricket! 🥰

I enjoy your videos. My Westie is a counryy dog with an Aussie brother. He speaks for both when he demands to be let out in their yard to scare off the deer. He loves his harness because that neans it will be just him and me going someplace soecial. If he feels anxious about something we're doing he pees on me. Anyone else have that happen?
