We loved the Dr Brown bottles! We tried multiple brands and those were the best by far…esp for a reflux baby.

We love them too!! And we got a lot of education on them from the NICU team of occupational therapists! Reflux with nicu babies is usually higher because often they’re on oxygen and they have feeding tubes plus they have to feed them on a schedule which means their little bodies have to take on a LOT really quickly! These bottles can be LIFE changing to little ones! I’m so happy you found them helpful too! They get a lot of grieve on the internet from parents who say there’s too many parts to wash LOL which is crazy to me! All the parts are worth it when it comes to your babies ability to eat with comfort!🙌🏻❤️

So interesting how people want to give their opinions on what works for you. You do you! You’re doing great! Is your hubby taking some time off for a bit as well? Really nice that he can be there too.

It’s insane I think I get MORE unsolicited advice in the newborn stage than when pregnant I didn’t think it was possible!! And yes we took the same amount of time off to be together as a family and bond during this time it’s been awesome!

I love your outlook! It is so true that each parent has to make the choice and how to bond or do life after baby. After my first, I was stressed, exhausted and really just did housework and rest with my baby. (She was colicky and cries all the time though). My second baby. I was ready to roll and wanted to do all the things and go out as a family day two! Totally different experiences between the 2. You are doing wonderful and I love that you are doing what works for you and your husband, that's how it should be❤

You go back to work when you and the family are feeling ready -- I took 9 weeks off after my first child was born and I really enjoyed being back to work. I did exclusive pumping for 6 mos and it worked out just fine.

I miss my “routine” obviously having a new little one is great but I find after this time home I’m a little bored! She’s such a good baby but being home all day isn’t my norm! I’ll enjoy it while I’m here but like you I enjoy work and can’t wait to go back!

I love how you talked about not shaming the bottle feeders! ❤ I could only produce 1/3 of an ounce and had to supplement with formula. My husband and I took turns with the night shift as well, so at least someone was fully rested the next day. You guys are rocking this! ❤

You are such an inspiration. Yiure a perfect example to new moms everywhere that having a newborn doesnt have to mean going into hibernation. You can, and should, live your life!! Blessings to you and your family ❤❤❤

Thank you for being you! I was a low producer for milk and my babies first week and half were just so difficult. He latched great and fed wonderfully (I thought) I assumed he was colicky and cluster feeding but he kept losing weight. Finally our family doctor suggested I add a formula feed. I felt awful! It was really embarrassing for me. But it ended up being the best thing! By middle of the first day adding formula I realized he was hungry not colicky at all. He ended up being the absolute most joyful, happy boy and as you mentioned my husband was able to feed too! I continued to breast feed him as much as he could get from me (barely 2oz between both) but then I could hand him to my husband and he got to do the same. I'm thankful that experience was put on us cause we wouldn't have ever considered it.

You should NEVER be embarrassed to feed your baby formula and I feel awful for you that you felt that way! 💜 I’m definitely a “low producer” but we noticed that the week we were in the NICU, at that point it didn’t matter because she was on formula feeds to gain weight and to learn to eat, but we all assumed it was stress. Coming home bumped my milk up a bit but I just don’t have a lot and that’s okay 💜 everyone is so different but it’s wild to me how the people who believe in exclusivity to breastfeeding make others feel bad. If someone’s never been in a situation to have to use supplementation for their baby I consider their input invaluable because they have no experience!

🤣🤣🤣 I mean I try to be super nice about it! I hope other moms find their voice as they need to too because it can be overwhelming for people in real life + the internet to being always sharing their unsolicited advice! Everyone’s so different same with lifestyles there’s no one way!

You do you!! Whatever works best for your family. I also breastfed and supplemented with formula and my now adult children are thriving. I wished I was more active postpartum but did not fall in love with movement until after by kids were older. I cannot be still now. Love moving and doing and caring for my family and our home!!!

It’s empowering to still get things done with a newborn 💜 child they’re so easy at this stage imo it’s nice to be able to still do housework, go for walks and we even do adventures!

Woman enjoy your baby. She is your tiny human and others need to not be so judgmental. You guys do what works best for you. I love how real you are. Both my littles were nicu babies as well and I couldn’t for the life of me get them to breastfeed. I pumped what I could for them but also had to formula feed. I struggled to make enough breast milk and was thankful for formula. I love the permanent smile on your face, your little one has brought so much joy to you and your husband and it shows. I also struggled with fertility ( on my end ) so I love seeing your journey, and the love and joy your princess has brought to you. Congratulations again on the birth of your princess, love hearing about her and the joy she has added to your life.

Thank you for this! I feel deep in my soul nicu moms understand! When your baby is born early, breastfeeding isn’t as natural to them and your milk doesn’t come in the same way! I find it hard to understand how others whom haven’t been through the same, are saying “hey this is best”💜 she’s happy healthy and thriving! And we are too!!

Love this! You look so happy. Wonderful that you and Joe were both able to take off the same amount of time, so that the 3 of you can experience becoming a new family together. Totally not surprised that your house has exploded with baby stuff - it's amazing that a 5 pound person comes with all that paraphernalia!

It’s truly incredible how much stuff a baby brings into a home! We love it but she definitely took over 🤣🤣🤣 we laugh all the time at night because our upstairs loft is full of baby stuff because it’s where we spend the most of our time! She has put her stamp on things and she doesn’t even know it
