Great taste in music. I wish you were at my high school in late 70s. I was listening to those Donovan LPs in my bean bag chair. ✌

You are really groovin’ Lisa with your 60’s collection. I just saw Procol Harum at the Winery in Atlanta a few months back and the were rocking. They’re touring America promoting their new album Novum. I also love to listen to Donovan’s Hurdy Gurdy Man when I am a little low. Again, great collection of music from the 60’s for someone so young.

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video sorry it took me time to reply to this but I've been just trying to get myself well. Lovely that you got to see them live I bet they're still rocking just as much as they did in the 60s.

I grew up around 60's music my dad was born in 40's. It was played a lot when i was young. By far i felt 60s had the best arrangement of music. I'm glad. They're always 60's albums i need. I forgot a few in this video. That the thing about having a big collection.

You showed a lot of classic 60's folk and RnR LPs . One of the 1st Simon and Garfunkel LPs you showed the self titled one on Pickwick records is a compilation of recordings they did back in the 50's and early 60's when they went under the name Tom & Jerry.. You might want to get some 60's LPs by Tim Buckley and or Phil Ochs if you don't already have some.
@bobglover9494 жыл бұрын
Nice collection you have there. I love to see Donovan getting some love. The greatest hits is mostly rerecorded so you will notice a differences on most tracks. Mellow Yellow is my favorite Donovan LP if you can find it. Try to find some Kinks, Ray Davies doesn't get the recognition her deserves. I don't know what CDs you have but when buying the Beatles records try to find British pressings. The track order is different from the US versions and especially Help, Rubber Soul and Revolver the flow IMO is better on the UK pressings. Probably why all the CD issues were from the UK records.
@GroovyLisa4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I will look into that donovan album. Okay, I don't much of a CD collection but I look into them all. Thanks for watching.

Very cool you have a Nina Simone album! I've never seen her on vinyl here ever. You've got a great 60's collection! I love "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears". I'm happy to own that, too. Love me some Andy Williams! Pet Sounds is definitely not overrated! Is that an original LP of Pet Sounds or reissue? I'm going to get a reissue. I only have it on CD so far. Disraeli Gears is my favorite album cover, too! Thanks for sharing your 60s stuff! ~Hanna

Hi Groovy Lisa! Do you have "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" by Harpers Bazaar? It was written by Paul Simon & also recorded by Simon & Garfunkel, but Harpers Bazaar had the hit version. Or "We've got a Groovy Thing Goin' On Baby" by Simon and Garfunkel? Or "Groovin'" by The Rascals? Or "Groovin' is Easy" by The Electric Flag? Or "A Groovy Kind of Love" by The Mindbenders? Or "Workin on a Groovy Thing" by The 5th Dimension? Just seems natural that those songs should be part of a groovy girl's 60's record collection. Happy hunting!

OMG how old are you Lisa ? How can you be SOOO savvy at such a young age ? this is an amazing show of eclectic tastes, savoir-faire with records and how to care for them...and LAST but not LEAST...all vintage pressings save for a few !!!! Woman !! you are on the right track for sure ! Pardon me but...you must have come from parents who had a great record collection, right ? your Dad ! cool ...anyway...you have INCREDIBLE taste. May i suggest a couple of Giants you are missing...: Love - Forever Changes / Buffalo Springfield - Again / Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn / Velvet Underground & Nico with the Banana Cover / Joan Baez - the first one with the high contrast B&W cover her playing guitar....unfortunately those fetch very high prices in great condition but if you don't mind modern pressings ...the Love, the Pink Floyd, the Velvet have all been reissued and they are well done. Other than that and at the risk of repeating myself....you are quite an impressive young collector ! Keep at it ...you can't go wrong with this kind of drug. God Bless !

You need yourself some Kinks and Yardbirds. Kinks: Greatest Hits, Face to Face, Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society, Arthur. Yardbirds, Having A Rave Up, Over Under Sideways Down, Greatest Hits. Try some Leo Kottke also. "Armadillo" is the place to start.
