You often hear old white and even some black south africans talk about how good life was during apartheid. In my opinion, it is not that they want apartheid to come back, I don't know a single white person who would agree with that. What the older generations want is the country they love back, low crime, high employment rates and a functional economy. Who can actually blame them, I am only in my 20's and I even remember how clean and beautiful our country used to be.

They recently tried to grab land in Klopper Germiston but were held back and booted out by the community there. Who promtly built concrete walls within hours to keep them out and turning the area into a shithole. Apparently what is happening is that there are individuals who are selling these poor people, probably EFF guys, bits of of land for 500 bucks for a patch. Then when those people move to said land they are promptly stopped as it is private land, and the person who sold them the land was just a grifter who quickly scurried away with like tens of thousands of rands. So poor people are being taken advantage of by EFF grifters or any one else of their own for get rich quick scheme.

Simple math about " land issue bs" South africas gdp is 405 billion usd per year. 77% of that goes to goverment in taxes and levies. The problem with land expropriation in a Marxist ideology is that the government never gives the people a title deed. Even now government owns vast tracts of land that is RENTED or LEASED to the people. Government policy of "Equal opportunity" creates a skills drain, collapsing infrastructure and therefore reduction in foreign investment that creates jobs. The best thing for black people is a healthy booming capitalist economy with great job opportunities so that they can buy land, own title deeds and prosper.

My brother is a high school teacher (life sciences) actually believes this apartheid return narrative as well as my mother (nurse). This idea is not so fringe and these are decent folks. When I ask them to explain to me how and what good it would do for anyone _ crickets!. I'm so over politics.
