Dude I love how frisk is being treated as a sort of secondary antagonist, It's so cool to see them acting in character. This is one of the few depictions of frisk that actually capture how emotionless they are during the genocide route, Never emoting only boxing.

Why is no one talking about how adorable Madeline and the Knight are. The only line spoken between them is the caption of "sup". Show don't tell. And the way Knight just bows to Madeline after saving him is great. Also I want to add that these two are the most wholesome in the cast of characters, one is smol and the other is Madeline.

Also their health bars kinda work differently in this dimension since when Shovel Knight was first fighting the robot (at 2:30) he was shown to only have one piece of health left but he was still fine after getting a ton of damage by it and Cuphead (whose personality accurately reflects his Netflix cartoon).

I recently got back into shovel knight and its so addicting i love the game and how much challenge there is in it. ive been trying to get all the feats and its super fun and you get that big sense of joy when you finally get one that youve been working so hard on obtaining. So great to see some recognition for the shovel man and I hope they make a reference to fish head at some point in the series.

Although the bow indicates emotion, which is not the best implication for the "hollow" aspect of the knight. If you've played HK you know what happened the last time a vessel showed emotion. Doesnt really matter for this series tho

@@906robot9 Well, it's pretty clear that the Little Vessel isn't hollow. Even if it started out that way, we've seen how fragile a vessel's "pure state" really is. Whether it be annoyance at Zote, gratitude for Hornet after she saved its life, anger towards the Pale King after remembering its birth, or so many other examples, it clearly isn't hollow by the end. Furthermore, we see it do several things that an emotionless creature with a clear purpose in mind. Participating in Grimm's ritual, preforming the flower quest, spending a final moment with Quirrel, and ascending to the Pantheon of Hallownest are all clear examples of this.

The White Lady still seems to think it is pure despite believing it to also have a will and such, so there is that. I think it is left vague on purpose so the player can draw their own conclusion. Regardless I'm pretty sure the bow is just a reference to the HK community's tendency to bow to bosses after defeating them. Loved the unique take tho!

I think that, whether or not the unnecessary actions the Little Vessel preforms cannot be the player imprinting his/her emotions onto the character, since such meta elements are not present in HK. Lots of games nowadays seem to canonically break the fourth wall (a rising trope which I'm far from a fan of, it ruins stakes, which I believe are a very important part of storytelling), but Hollow Knight is not one of those games. The White Lady is probably just assuming the Little Vessel is pure since it wasn't chosen and received no affection from the Pale King. At any rate, I don't think there's any way she'd be able to sense something like this.

12:57 I like how it took a crap ton of “Real Knives” to defeat Frisk, because the of the “Real knife’s” attack stat being 99. Because if you checked Undyne the Undying’s stats” in the genocide route, she also has an attack stat of 99. If you hacked the game to get the heart locket early in that fight, Undyne’s attacks would literally do like 1 - 2 damage from what I remember.

I love this so much! I've beaten all of these games except for Hollow Knight (I'll get around to it I swear), and seeing all these indie gaming icons interact is really cool, feels a lot like the Subspace Emissary from Brawl. All the characters were represented so well, loved the dynamic between Cuphead and Shovel Knight. And as someone who's played way more UT/DR than the other games I loved all the attention to detail with frisk like having a crazy high power level after the genocide route of 38 million, 38 being 2 times the LV 19 you get at the end of the route. So much polish and care put into this

I have yet to watch this in full, having only skimmed through a few clips, but I REALLY hope Risk of Rain gets some representation in future episodes. Seeing the brothers of Petrichor V opposing each other or even being forced to work together against a greater force would be a sight to behold, not to mention potentially hearing Risk of Rain inspired music. Still, as an indie game lover, I really do think this is the coolest shit regardless of who makes it in. My personal favorite duo (trio?) is Madeline and the Knight- Hollow Knight is my favorite game of all time, and Celeste is really fun in its own right too. Seeing Madeline react to the Knight's silent mannerisms is really fun. Keep up the good work!

Genocide Frisk is a pretty neat idea as opposed to Pacifist (where their true name is revealed and I think more people associate the character with), especially since the series is probably focusing on combat. Frisk being a (secondary?) antagonist everyone has to watch out for is probably going to lead to some interesting interactions.

I know nobody’s gonna see this, but here goes nothing. This is an absolute masterpiece, and I’ll try to list all the reasons why. 1. Every single person is incredibly in character, even down to the silent characters like Hollow Knight and Frisk, and that’s a really hard thing to do. Also, every single one of the voices fits their character spot on. 2. It would’ve been so easy to just say “Chara is the new villain” but this animation acknowledges it was Frisk’s choice to do Genocide. 2. First voice acted animation to call Frisk by their proper pronouns. 3. All the dynamics shouldn’t work as well as they do, but they WORK!!! Especially the dynamic between Shovel Knight and Cuphead. 4. I’m glad it didn’t rely on FNF stuff to get popular. You could watch this without having played any source material from any of these games, and without having played the FNF mod, and you’re experience wouldn’t change all that much. 5. Absolutely gorgeous soundtrack and animation. 6. It actually builds connections between characters that aren’t from the same game. Their connections build overtime, the series doesn’t go full “Avengers Endgame” Mode right of the bat with a million characters in one place. Honestly, probably the single best crossover animation I’ve ever seen! Keep up the good work! Godspeed, Indie Cross!

Also I just realized that although The Hollow Knight is dead, we don’t see The Infection being contained or cut off at the source. Radiance cameo maybe..? Not likely, but holding out hope, especially considering the fact that it looks like the infection followed the Shade into the portal.

The fight scenes are glorious. My favorite part is 8:46 where Cuphead readies a bait charge shot at close range to open SK up for the Roundabout Saw. And he probably knew this would work because every previous attempt at a close charge shot would result in SK blocking it in his face. Man’s learning from past interactions and that’s the most underrated part of fight scenes imo. Edit: The best example is 8:27, where Cuphead tries to land a big blow but SK swats his hand and blowing it up in his face. Heck, the first part of the fight as a whole consisted of Cuphead getting his charge shots denied. This made the rest of his Roundabout Combo feel earned.

That was SO damn nice, I love the attention to detail for all the respective games, like the Knight’s mask falling to the ground when he died, or the crack noises from Cuphead’s injuries, and the use of all their unique abilities, this is SICK! Especially with very good and accurate writing and voice acting- I see this as being the Subspace Emissary 2 that we never got! I’ll be keeping an eye on this series, and I don’t know if it’s planned or not to add more games as you go, but if so, I’d KILL to see Omori, however the hell that could work, or the much less likely option of Psychonauts. It’s… vaguely/previously indie. But in that sphere!
