Happy Holidays everyone! Today I am releasing the chatty version of a fun creation that I managed to duplicate. Aker Fassi Lip Stain from a sample I purchased from Morocco ($60) is what I based my final formulation. It was really fun and took a lot of research (this seems to be a closely guarded secret recipe). I found references to pomegranate bark, rose oil and wax. I also knew that the dye used cosmetically was available and purchased the Aker Fassi easily enough on Etsy. My biggest breakthrough was gained by reading Make it Up by Marie Rayma who is the KZbinr and DIY Blogger at Humblebee and Me. I learned about cosmetic dyes and I will be building on that knowledge in future creations with this format. I love how it is dry (cannot melt) and minimal packaging. It will need to be put in a container if you plan on taking it anywhere or putting it in your bag because it will rub off and transfer from the pot. I recommend finding a place for it on your counter and leaving it there.
Available by custom order for $20 CDN. To get your handmade custom Moroccan inspired lip tint, email me at jenspice1@yahoo.ca. Shipping is about $20 CDN in most of North America and some International locations. I will send you an invoice via Square. Shipping is the same for 1 or up to 10 lip pots (limited quantities available). Available in two colours: Moroccan Lite (lightly lip staining) or Moroccan Dark (deeper longer lasting lip stain)
Basic Aker Fassi Light Jentle Soaps Style
Terra Cotta Pot or tiny pot base
Phase 1
.149 g I 9.38% Aker Fassi
.236 g I 14.86% Distilled Water
Oil Phase
.051 g I 3.21% rose wax
1.004 g I 63.22% toasted coconut oil
Dry Phase
.074 g I 4.66% Red Iron Oxide
.074 g I 4.66% FD&C Red 40
To your mixing bowl add the aker fassi and distilled water. Set aside. Melt oils and add to aker fassi. Use a blending brush to combine well. if making this tiny 2 pot recipe. Mix your pigments and dyes and add to bowl. Using the mixing brush paint two tiny terra cotta pots or one larger one. A large size would be approx. 2.5 inches in diameter. A small size is 1.5 inches in diameter. Allow to dry overnight.
To use moisten with a brush or finger tip and use sparingly for a light tint and layer for a deeper ruby tint.

I have journeyed to Morocco (yes I got several samples of these terra cotta lip pots) and had a blast! Stay tuned to see more variations of this product that I found in the souks or markets from Casablanca to Skoura. We will be going back to Morocco next Spring 2024 so please join me and my friends if you are interested. I'm pretty sure your source has mistranslated pomegranate rind as pomegranate bark. Many parts of the pomegranate tree, including the rind, contain toxins, but it is probably safe in small quantities.

Yes! I’m so happy to see this. ❤️. Now the question is, can you do more plum, purple, and pink colours? To me, it seems like the aker fassi is one colour - from the poppies and pomegranate- but if you can add other dyes you could have a wide range.

Aker Fassi did not seem to stain very much at all by itself. I am thinking it is the acids in the compound that is used to help increase its staining ability but I will try all the different lip safe dyes for sure! This was a very fun project.

@@JenSpice do you think that instead of pomegranate Tint I could use instead Annato powder?

@@marialaura7326 yes, but the colour would be more orange which is also lovely on the right complexion. LMK if it works? Good luck!

Hey Hunny Bunny! This was cool and those lil pots are adorable!! What about the stain being in the open pots, does it get all over everything? Like does it rub off dry? Confused on how ya use bit of "water" to apply it when it's made with "oil and wax" and those don't mix with water? Is it because there was only a tiny amount of them used or did the "powder" dyes take them over and make it a more "dry" consistency instead of something like a chapstick consistency that we usually think of when using oils/butter and wax. Liked to have seen ya run your dry finger in the pot and see what happens. Can ya tell I'm loving this idea?! LOL ; ) Questions, questions. Haha Since Red 40 is more of an orangey red, I bet using Red 28 or Red 33 would make a gorgeous color as well. Boy, if I lived next to ya or in the same town, we'd be 2 peas in a pod with all the exciting and fun creations!! LOL Wink wink ; ) Looking forward to seeing the next video on it so I can get it down in my kooky head. Haha Have a wonderful day...Big ((Hugs)) and Love from Texas!! xoxo : )

@@alialsayed2550 I have updated the recipe. I hope this helps. LMK where you are having trouble? It is simply mixed and painted on to the tera cotta pot and allowed to dry. I have added an emulsifyer to make it more smooth to apply but that is not absolutely essential if you are doing DIY. It should work even without the Olivem 1000,

@@JenSpice I would certainly advise you to check with which culture you would be more interested in knowing first. Because each state has it's own different culture. If you want something sweet, nostalgic & traditional, my recommendation would be for you to visit Bengal. The capital city Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta) is known as the cultural capital of India. You'll definitely love it here. ❤️
