Awesome! I'm 2 weeks from shipping my bike to London from Alaska that's my starting point of a 40+ day ride through Europe and Morocco (12 days there and not a plan for where to go until I get there!). I do plan on being off road as much as possible though. You're an example of why I'm riding a KTM 690! I don't want to struggle picking it up or need help doing it.
@floatingmans7937 жыл бұрын
Bill Ness sounds like a great trip. altho the alp is a heavy one, it gave me 0 trouble, you wont have trouble with getting clean fuel in Europe, chances of dirty fuel in morocco is higher, especially if you do offroad and end up at sh*tty gasstations or sucking fuel out of someones moped, i probably wont have to tell you about 690's and dirty fuel haha, i own a 990 adventure s, love it. have fun with your journey

Great Video... tend to agree with the comments about music. Would be better with less. Although you have better music taste than most. in my opinion anyway.. Good job. I also have a transalp and feel inspired. Not sure if i could ride it for 8 hours being over 50 now.

Looks Awesome.How did you choose that route ? Do you have a google map ? Did you have any issues with the locals ? Any problems with the bike in the heat ?Would you have changed your route ? I am also going to do the Pair removal and aftermarket exhaust mod on my 2001650 TA. How did the bike perform after and is there anything else you might change? Thanks for posting this video.

Hey, very nice trip and a cool video! I've got a question - would you recommend the crashbars? If yes, which ones do you have mounted?
@floatingmans7936 жыл бұрын
Yes, take the low crashbars. Cant remember the brand. Dont take high one that go over your headlight, they can mess up your fairing when crashed and than you will have trouble removing the crashbars because it will bend
@mechanizatorius6 жыл бұрын
@@floatingmans793 thanks for the reply, Nick! So did you get to 'test' these low crashbars to the point where you would say they do protect the bike enough? The ones going all the way up to the headlight definitely do not look strong enough.

really nice trip awesome views are you happy with this helmet (caberg tourmax?) cheers Pozdrawiam :)
@floatingmans7938 жыл бұрын
the positive and negative sides of this helmet are nose to nose. I have been using this helmet for about 8000km about now, and i have a mixed opinion. it stays comfortable after wearing it for a couple of hours, i tend to have hotspots really quik on previous helmets, but non of that on the tourmax. this helmet is offcourse enduro so the sunshield is there, on high speeds it does not pick up wind as much as you would expect, it rather pushes the helmet a bit down instead of up, wich is good because the sunvisor in my opinion is set a bit to high when you use it, and when the helmet is pushed down the sunvisor is in a perfect angle and not in your line of sight. downside of the helmet is that it is a flip up, yes, i bought it for this exact same reason, but i soon found out that when flipped up, it is way to high, it already catches wind at really low speed, and it is really hard to flip up and down with only one hand, so 90 precent of the time i have it down, it´s better to choose between a normal flip up or an allroad helmet. the visor is good, although the pinlock obstruct your field of view realy fast when you open your visor a bit. the wind noise on this helmet is..well..it is not a schuberth. i use earplugs because the noise is to much, maybe because i am of tall posture that i just catch an insane amount of wind. but the helmet is stable on highway speeds, there is no such thing as a quit allroad enduro helmet. hope you find this info usefull.

Great video. How was the transalp in that country? Was it the right choise to go with the transalp or do you prefer an bigger motorcycle like a honda varadero or something. Because i want to make the same tour but i am not sure what kind of bike. I am thinking about the transalp or the varadero.
@floatingmans7936 жыл бұрын
I once owned a Varadero. And if i had to choose between a Dero or Alp, i would go with the Alp. The Varadero is a heavy girl. Both bikes are reliable and can do the job easy. I think you can do this trip with any bike to be honest.

Thanks Nick! How does it run after those mods? Pair, catalyst and jetting?
@floatingmans7937 жыл бұрын
Leiberg the difference isn't huge, fuel consumption got a bit more leaner, 310km on a full tank of gas, i did not fit an aftermarket exhaust, i think the difference should be more noticeable, i did notice no more delay when opening up the throttle aggresise
