Cant be underrated when most people were not lucky enough to hear them when Sandman was still alive. After “The Night” was released I read an article in Rolling Stone where the author opened with an apology for not introducing people to them earlier.

Sandman was a true visionary and actually invented instruments and processes in the bass monotone. He was an artist and photographer. He left a lasting legacy but was a guy who was wrapped very tight, thus leading to high stress with ultimately ended his short life due to a heart attack- RIP on this day 2021

I was trying to figure it out. There’s an early live version where Mark is playing it on guitar (look for “pale brothers take me with you”). It appears to simply be a play on Am and C for most of the song. I find it a bit difficult to sing along while playing it but I’ve never been good a this 😅
