Hi Renaldo, I grow a few different varieties. I think that one may be a Lady Finger

To be honest I have never even heard of it. I have tried doing some research but could find nothing. My guess is that the person may have given it that common name themselves or it may have been past on. I am curious to know what the fruit look and taste like? I have Musa 'Lady Finger', Musa puspanjaliae, Musa ventricosum, Musa velutina, Musa coccinea, Musa (one more I can't remember the name right now), Musa 'Williams' Musa 'Cavendish' and one other as well. Where do you live?

The Ladyfinger is an extremely common Banana in South Africa. The regular banana on dump sites or growing in open waste sites or locations is usually the Lady finger. If cared for well it is a really rewarding banana to grow. I have done a series on Banana plants, see link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2ewknxmp8pgopo

Was that a self pollination? I have a purpurea that’s going to bloom. Is it okay to self pollinate it? Was the self pollination successfull?

Hey there Kyaw, that is a very good question. In the video I show the process of pollination. What you need to remember is that certain species will not allow self-pollination and others are receptive to it. So it really comes down to trial and error in that regard. I crossed S. alata with S. readii hybrid in this video and seedlings are doing great.
