Three weeks ago my dad passed away. My heart is in pieces. Maybe in heaven he was received by Jesus with this song. I like to think so. If you believe, please make a prayer for him. His name is José Evaristo Sobrinho. From Brazil.

I find solace in music, as well. Mine passed 3 years ago, & I am still not over it. They take a piece of us when they go. My only consolation is that I am convinced he is still watching over me; whenever things go wrong, miraculously they work out. I am sure it will be the same for you. Cherish him.

Im not a believer. Also my father passed away nearly 2 year ago and I couldn't be with him during his hour of need. I failed as a son to him as he was there to wipe my butt when I needed him. This beautiful music makes me wish I could go back in time to be with him again. I dont think the pain of losing my beloved father will ever go away. I wish you the best and take care.

by far... one of the prettiest works of art i have ever seen. as a homeless man.. living and working out of my car on the mountain... i would drive down to get a shower at 3 am in a gym.. and listen to this song... on the way down to town... .. knowing my work for God, country, and self preservation lay ahead. The Song reminds me of the sunrise.... hope, righteousness, ... hope for true dignity. the version i listened to then.. was with Yo Yo Ma ... i will never forget those mornings....

The Mission (Gabriel's Oboe) is the most beautiful melody that penetrates the soul. I am still very sad that Morricone has passed away during this pandemic. His noble music makes us remember the power of love and music. The world may not return to what it used to be. But wherever we are, our souls are tied solidly. Let's live together in the same time without forgetting “love”! With love from Japan.

"Gabriel's Oboe" theme is one of the most (if not the most itself) heart-melting, soul-breaking and chills-giving melodies and musical compositions that have ever been created. Every time I listen to it I have a mix of feelings: tears fight to roll out of my eyes while I realize the incomensurable power that humans do own to create beauty and, at the same time, to destroy beauty. Just for this masterpiece alone, Ennio Morricone deserves eternal recognition.

There are no words to describe the love that I have for this masterpiece, I feel an explosive mix of feelings when I hear it, I feel levitate and flew through the clouds, and from there I can reach back to the past, in my past, and I can see that in some of the most beautiful and important moments of my life, this unequaled soundtrack was always there... I've heard this music over and over, unending times, in moments of passion and love, on my wedding ceremony, when I was blessed by the birth of my two beloved sons, even when my son learned how to play flute, he offered me the privilege to play it for his dad. This sublime music gave a meaning to my existence, filling my life with love, joy and tears, yes, I always feel my eyes wet when I remember that this masterpiece certainly it was composed in the heaven, because everyone can feel it a divine presence. If one day someone reaches to the paradise, I am sure it will be received for this music. Thank you so much Ennio Morricone for having allowed the mortals to feel this unique moment, when they are still on this planet.

That’s the reason why when I want to ear “my” Gabriel ‘s oboe, I watch this concert. It’s a pity that in the end The Maestro Morricone, doesn’t give her a special mention. Ennio always used to play with the same orchestra, I went twice to his concert and the oboist used to get it’s own applause but again, this lady, it’s the best. Thanks for your comment. Last thing, the choir it’s superb too. ( I used to sing in a choir so my heart it’s always with them)

I was VERY LUCKY to attend the concert Morricone conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark while I was on holiday. It was the very best concert I have ever been to, and such a privilege to see him conducting this and many other of his canon. Quite the maestro, and such a joy to hear the audience cheering his name. An evening not to be forgotten.💯

Ennio Morricone said that sometimes ideas for music came to him in his dreams which is why he always slept with a notepad and a pencil by his bed. This truly is music of dreams. Heavenly dreams. I have no words. Even after 30 years ( since I heard it for the first time), it still brings on elation and tears. Every time, without a fail.

There are sometimes in classical or score pieces where introductions of choirs create a "drop" like how there are in modern electronic and pop music, it's all about the timing and the composition that makes the effect. And this one in particular is one of the textbook cases when it's brought to the best.

Years and years of teaching, learning, practice, work, research, luck, financing, drafting, testing, composing and editing lie behind every masterwork. It's a very human process, and I for one find that fact all the more wonderful. I give credit where it's due, and don't presume it comes from a magical somehow, somewhere or someone else.

Well put. When I listen to his music I feel it momentarily redeems the human race and the evil we do to each other and the planet we share with other creatures. It makes you ponder, how can beings capable of creating such beautiful things also be responsible for so much ugliness, so much suffering? It makes me cry.
