I love how while singing "I'd hate to be like certain people I know" He glances over to the camera, and his eyes sort of jokingly say "I'm talking about you..."!

Hi, dont know if you know he is talking about his ex-friend Tim Booth (from James) -they fell out around 1992 and so Morrissey penned this very cutting tune - sang and played in an upbeat humorous way but at the time Morrissey was obviously fuming...

JohnW.. I would have to agree with you.. a young Robert Smith is my particular "bromance." Around the time of Lovecats they would give him some Rayband sunglasses and point him the way to the stage ;) For the record, though, RS despised lipsyncing! I would also add the fact that maybe Morrissey was in love for the first time here..his book said around 34 for this charming and sensible young bloke! 😊

LYRICS: I take the cue from Certain people I know I use the cue And then I Hand it on to you And when I swing it So, it catches his eye... (weren't you there ? - you'd have died !) I trust the views of Certain people I know They look at danger And they Laugh their heads off Their clothes are imitation George the 23rd (don't you find this absurd?) I'd hate to be like Certain people I know They break their necks And can't afford to Get them fixed Ah, they'd sacrifice all Of their principles for Anything cashable I do believe it's terrible Oh, wo, wo Ah, ah, ah, ah Oh, wo, wo Ah, ah, ah, ah Oh, wo, wo Ah, ah, ah, ah

It's absurd that someone can be this cool, seriously. He could have posed as Boticelli's Venus in this video, pulling it off and making the painting look tacky by comparison, but next to him, don't we all do?

He's at Calumet Park on the Southeast Side of Chicago. That factory is on the Indiana side. Too bad I wasn't aware of the filming of this at the time,as I would have been there in an instant, since I live 5 minutes from there. Ive spent many summers on those beaches. So this video has 2 special things in my life.

@@michellethomas563 no,I must've been like 12 yrs old when they filmed this. although I was well aware of the Smith's since I was 8. I'm guessing he was on tour and took a detour. it would be cool to know the real reason tho

Looks like 1st thing on a summer morning about 5am? This'll be the Your Arsenal tour of 1992. Its weird as I'm from Manchester myself but last night was reading online about a Chicago copper being shot called Elle French and was looking at the Google maps at this place because the straw purchaser of the gun came from here!! Weird coincidence 🤔. Might do the lottery this week!!! Thanks for the info mate 👍
